One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchFor a self-managed prerecorded Hindi sleep-music stream, DigitalOcean’s Basic Droplet at $18/month is the lowest-cost option in this comparison with an officially documented Bangalore region. It includes 2 vCPUs, 2 GiB RAM, 60 GiB SSD storage and 3,000 GiB of transfer. At the illustrative 720p30 rate below, that transfer allowance fits a 30-day stream on paper, but with limited headroom. The $24/month tier raises the allowance to 4,000 GiB. Neither configuration is a tested guarantee for your particular streaming software or media.
If you would rather not administer a VPS for an uploaded-video loop, StreamNeo is the managed alternative to consider first: it runs continuously from the cloud, supports uploaded video up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.
Which VPS is the best budget choice?
For a creator who specifically wants a VPS in Bangalore, DigitalOcean’s $18/month Basic Droplet is the clearest budget starting point in the available provider-published options. DigitalOcean lists its Bangalore region as BLR1. Its $24/month Basic option is a more cautious pick if you want additional transfer capacity.
| Option | Published configuration and price | India location evidence | What to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| DigitalOcean Basic | $18/month; 2 vCPUs, 2 GiB RAM, 60 GiB SSD, 3,000 GiB transfer | DigitalOcean documents BLR1 as Bangalore, India. | Lowest listed DigitalOcean tier here; its transfer allowance leaves limited theoretical headroom for a 30-day 8.16 Mbps stream. |
| DigitalOcean Basic | $24/month; 2 vCPUs, 4 GiB RAM, 80 GiB SSD, 4,000 GiB transfer | DigitalOcean documents BLR1 as Bangalore, India. | More transfer margin and memory at a higher listed price. |
| NivoHost RDP 3 | ₹1,799/month, tax included; 720p30, 160 kbps audio, 8 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM, 160 GB SSD, 20 TB bandwidth and two stream handles | The plan page does not specify the VPS data-center region. | Streaming-specific published configuration, but confirm region, renewal price, fair-use terms and continuous-stream policy in writing. |
These are provider-published offers, not independently benchmarked results. A business address in India is not evidence that a VPS is hosted in India. For NivoHost, ask for the data-center location and whether the advertised bandwidth and stream handles cover a nonstop stream under the plan’s terms.

How much bandwidth does a month of streaming use?
At a constant 8 Mbps video bitrate plus 160 kbps audio, 30 days of uninterrupted streaming sends about 2.64 decimal TB of payload before protocol overhead and retransmissions. This is an arithmetic estimate, not an official YouTube total bitrate: it combines YouTube’s recommended H.264 video rate for 720p30 with the audio rate listed by NivoHost.

The calculation is 8.16 megabits per second Ă— 2,592,000 seconds Ă· 8 bits per byte = 2,643,840,000,000 bytes. Actual provider transfer accounting, stream interruptions, retransmissions and bitrate variation can change the amount billed or counted. A nominal 3,000 GiB allowance is not identical to 3,000 decimal TB, so do not treat the estimate as proof that the lowest tier will always be sufficient.
At 1080p30, YouTube’s recommended H.264 video bitrate is 10 Mbps; at 1080p60 it is 17 Mbps. Higher output rates use more monthly transfer. Check your encoder’s actual output rate and the VPS provider’s accounting rules before choosing a plan.

Choose encoder settings for YouTube
YouTube’s guidance recommends matching quality to a connection that can sustain the output, and testing before relying on the stream. Its recommended H.264 video rates include 8 Mbps for 720p30, 10 Mbps for 1080p30 and 17 Mbps for 1080p60. These are video rates, not total stream rates. YouTube also publishes separate recommendations for H.265/HEVC and AV1, so use the figures for your chosen codec rather than applying H.264 numbers to every stream.
- Protocol: RTMPS is recommended by YouTube.
- Rate control: Use constant bitrate (CBR), as recommended by YouTube.
- Keyframes: Set a two-second interval; YouTube says not to exceed four seconds.
- Audio: YouTube supports AAC or MP3. Include the audio bitrate when estimating total transfer.
- Quality: Pick the resolution and frame rate your media and VPS setup can sustain consistently; a prerecorded sleep-music loop usually does not need motion-heavy settings just because a higher resolution is available.
YouTube advises: “We recommend running a speed test to test your upload bitrate.” Test with representative audio and video movement, then monitor stream health during the event. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions guidance.

Check channel eligibility and music rights first
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its help page also states a maximum of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key. Check eligibility before paying for hosting: a VPS cannot remove a channel restriction. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Confirm that you have the necessary rights to every track and visual in the loop, and that their use complies with YouTube’s rules. Prerecording music or sending it from a VPS does not itself grant permission or establish that a particular stream is allowed.

Before you buy: verify the VPS will work for a nonstop loop
A simple prerecorded loop may not need the same computing resources as real-time encoding or live compositing. But the published specifications do not prove that a particular server will sustain your software, files and continuous outbound stream. Confirm the operational details and run a representative test before depending on a plan.
- Ask whether 24/7 outbound streaming is permitted and whether any fair-use limits apply.
- Confirm how monthly transfer is counted, when the allowance resets, and what happens if it is exceeded.
- For NivoHost, obtain written confirmation of the data-center region, renewal price, continuous-stream policy and recovery support.
- For any provider, clarify how to restart the stream after a process or server failure and whether support covers that recovery.
- Run a preflight test at your intended resolution, frame rate, codec and bitrate. Check YouTube stream health while it runs.
DIY VPS or managed cloud playback?
A VPS gives you server access and control over your streaming setup, but you are responsible for configuring and maintaining the process that sends the prerecorded video to YouTube. If you want that control and can verify the plan’s region, transfer terms and sustained-stream policy, DigitalOcean’s $18/month Bangalore-listed tier is the budget starting point in this comparison; the $24/month option offers more transfer margin.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a prerecorded Hindi sleep-music loop that does not need VPS control, StreamNeo is a managed YouTube playback alternative, not an India-region VPS. Upload your video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded video from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and gives each account one free first day with no card required.
Monthly: $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo or start the free first day.
