Use Ethernet where possible, set OBS to a bitrate your connection can sustain continuously, and verify the actual stream in YouTube Studio. A static IP or port forwarding is not a routine requirement for sending an OBS stream out to YouTube.
Set OBS for YouTube’s ingest requirements
Your encoder settings should match both YouTube’s guidance and the upload capacity you can sustain—not simply the speed advertised for your broadband plan. YouTube recommends RTMP or RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval, which should not exceed four seconds. Choose resolution and bitrate together
The following are YouTube’s H.264 encoder recommendations. They are platform recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular BSNL or Jio connection can hold that upload rate around the clock.

Set a lower resolution or bitrate if your measured upload varies or the stream drops frames. Leave headroom for audio, other household traffic, and normal fluctuations. OBS offers 75% of total upload as a starting point in its troubleshooting guidance, but that is not a universal rule or a promise of stability. OBS stream connection troubleshooting

Test the stream you intend to run
YouTube recommends testing upload bitrate and checking stream health. Test with motion and audio similar to your intended documentary stream; a still image or brief idle test may not reveal problems that appear during full-motion video or sustained operation. Improve the local network path
Connect the Windows PC to the router by Ethernet
When practical, connect the encoder PC directly to the supplied router or ONT/router with an Ethernet cable. OBS warns that Wi-Fi may be unstable for streaming and recommends a wired connection; Jio’s support material likewise describes wired LAN as faster and more stable than Wi-Fi for streaming. Ethernet reduces one source of local wireless variation, but it cannot prevent ISP-side congestion, line faults, or outages. OBS guidance · Jio support

Check sustained upload, not just a speed-test peak
Run an upload speed test, then observe the connection during a representative stream test. The useful question is whether upload remains stable under the conditions in which you will stream, including any household traffic—not merely whether a short test briefly reaches a high number. YouTube specifically recommends running a speed test to test upload bitrate. A provider’s name or advertised download speed does not establish your sustained upload performance at home.
Do you need a BSNL or Jio router tweak?
BSNL: do not apply server-hosting instructions to OBS without a specific need
The BSNL Kolkata document titled “Static IP and server configuration” describes modem-side virtual servers for services such as FTP and HTTP. That is server-hosting guidance; it does not establish that a static IP, disabled firewall, or port forwarding is needed for OBS to send an outbound stream to YouTube. Jio: no universal residential setting is established
Jio’s consumer support material supports wired LAN use and router security practices, but it does not document a single model-independent setting for 24/7 YouTube ingest. JioBusiness information about static IPv4 and port forwarding relates to a distinct business offering; it is not evidence that residential streamers need those features. Manage router security through the available Jio account or router controls and keep Wi-Fi credentials secure, but unusual Wi-Fi settings are not needed for a wired encoder PC. Jio support
Troubleshoot dropped frames and disconnects
If OBS reports dropped frames or disconnects, start with the network path and bitrate rather than assuming a DNS, MTU, static-IP, or port-forwarding change is needed.

- Lower the bitrate: Choose a rate your upload can sustain, and reduce resolution if necessary. OBS recommends lowering bitrate when connection problems occur.
- Switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet: This removes wireless instability between the PC and router as a likely cause, though it does not correct faults beyond the router.
- Leave Bind to IP at Default: OBS recommends this unless there is a specific reason to select another interface.
- Consider OBS network options carefully: OBS offers Windows network optimization/TCP pacing and dynamic bitrate options. Dynamic bitrate may reduce quality and does not fix the underlying connection problem.
- Check security-software interference: If security software is identified as the cause, check its logs and consider a program exception. Do not leave security protections disabled as a permanent fix.
- Escalate persistent faults with evidence: Keep timestamps and OBS logs, then ask your ISP to investigate local line faults or congestion.

- Sustained upload under load
- Packet loss and interruptions during a representative test
- YouTube stream-health messages over that test
- Whether wired Ethernet from the PC to the router is practical
- How quickly local support responds if a line fault or congestion is reported
Router models, local network conditions, account options, and service performance vary by location and time. A test can reveal how a connection behaves during that test; it cannot guarantee uninterrupted future operation.
