For a mostly static music visual, start with H.264 video at 1080p30 and 5 Mbps, plus stereo audio at 128 Kbps and 44.1 kHz. Use constant bitrate (CBR), a 2-second keyframe interval, and RTMPS. These are YouTube’s general live-encoder recommendations, not an India-specific or 24/7-specific profile; confirm that your connection and equipment can sustain them before relying on a continuous broadcast.
Recommended bitrate settings
YouTube’s recommended video bitrate varies with codec, resolution, and frame rate—not with music genre or the country where the channel is based. For a largely still image or gentle visualizer, 1080p30 is a practical starting point. YouTube’s live encoder guidance lists these H.264 video bitrates:
| H.264 video format | Recommended video bitrate | When it may fit |
|---|---|---|
| 720p30 | 3 Mbps | A lower-bandwidth option when 1080p is not reliable on the available upload connection. |
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | A practical starting point for mostly static music artwork. |
| 1080p60 | 14 Mbps | Use when the visuals or production benefit from 60 fps and the connection can sustain the higher bitrate. |
The figures are YouTube recommendations, not measured results for a particular stream. YouTube automatically transcodes live streams into multiple viewer formats, so a higher input bitrate does not guarantee a particular playback bitrate for each viewer.
Set audio for music
For stereo, set audio to 128 Kbps and a 44.1 kHz sample rate, as listed in YouTube’s advanced live encoder settings. YouTube accepts AAC or MP3 audio for RTMP/RTMPS encoder streams. Its guidance says 5.1 surround sound is supported only with AAC; that is relevant only if you are sending surround audio. The guidance does not prescribe a separate audio bitrate for Indian music.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Pair the bitrate with the right encoder settings
- Bitrate mode: CBR (constant bitrate).
- Keyframes: Set the interval to 2 seconds; do not exceed 4 seconds.
- Protocol: Use RTMPS where available. YouTube lists RTMP/RTMPS and recommends RTMPS.
- Video codec: YouTube lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1. The bitrate examples above are for H.264; do not assume the same bitrate applies unchanged to another codec.
- Audio: Stereo, 128 Kbps, 44.1 kHz; use AAC or MP3 for RTMP/RTMPS encoder audio.
Find the matching controls in your encoder’s stream or output settings. Labels and menu locations vary by software or hardware, so check its documentation if a setting is named differently. In YouTube’s live-control workflow, select the stream’s encoder connection details and use the stream key and server information shown there; keep the key private and enter it only in the encoder or service you intend to use.
Test the settings before leaving a stream running
- Check upload capacity. YouTube recommends choosing a quality your internet connection can reliably support and checking upload speed. The connection must sustain the selected video bitrate as well as audio and other network traffic; a momentary speed result is not proof of continuous stability.
- Configure the intended output. Set the target resolution and frame rate, H.264 video bitrate, CBR, 2-second keyframes, stereo audio bitrate and sample rate, and RTMPS.
- Run a representative test. Include the actual music audio and visuals similar to the planned stream. YouTube Help advises: “Tests should include audio and movement in the video similar to what you’ll be doing in the stream.”
- Check YouTube’s stream health and messages. Watch these during the test and while live, and lower the video resolution or bitrate if the connection cannot sustain the chosen quality.
- Validate the real continuous setup. Confirm that the stream remains connected, audio plays correctly, and the intended visual is present before depending on it for a 24/7 schedule. A short test cannot establish long-term reliability.
YouTube’s encoder guidance provides general bitrate recommendations; it does not establish a special bitrate for India or a dedicated 24/7 profile. Use the settings as a starting point and choose based on the actual connection and stream health in your setup.

Copyright and continuous music streams
Before streaming, make sure you have the rights or permissions needed for every track and visual you use. A bitrate setting does not grant music rights or determine whether a stream complies with YouTube’s copyright or monetization policies. The available encoder guidance does not establish a specific rule for reused content, so check YouTube’s current policies for your channel and material rather than treating a technically healthy stream as proof of policy compliance.
Do you need a hardware encoder?
No particular hardware encoder is required by these bitrate settings. YouTube’s guidance allows an encoder to be software or standalone hardware. Choose hardware only if it suits your dedicated setup; the bitrate question alone does not establish that buying a specific device is necessary.
