Former AFL star Ben Cousins gave Mix94.5 hosts Pete Curulli and Kymba Cahill a TikTok dance lesson during a 2024 appearance on their show. The 28 August 2024 report described Cousins leading the movements while the hosts followed; it did not name the song or establish when the segment was recorded or broadcast.
What happened on Pete & Kymba?
PerthNow reported that Cousins stood at the front and taught Pete Curulli and Kymba Cahill a dance associated with Charlie XCX. The report did not identify the track, and no official Mix94.5 episode or social post confirming the clip has been located. The original clip’s location also remains unconfirmed. PerthNow’s report, published 28 August 2024, is the account of the moment.
Why Cousins knew the moves
Cousins said he and his Dancing with the Stars partner, Siobhan Power, had recreated TikTok dances during rehearsals. He recalled trying Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ’Em” dance: “We did the Beyonce Texas Hold ‘Em! We love Beyonce…It wasn’t anything like Beyonce though! Well..maybe just Siobhan’s!” He also joked that he might try a dance linked to Samantha Jade’s new music next.
The radio appearance fit a recurring arrangement announced by Southern Cross Austereo in March 2024: Cousins was scheduled to join Pete & Kymba each Wednesday that year for “Bensday Wednesday,” discussing AFL, Dancing with the Stars and other subjects. SCA’s announcement describes the planned 2024 appearances.

Keep the TikTok lesson separate from the arcade dance-off
Mix94.5 also held a dance-off at Timezone Northbridge in May 2024, but that was a separate event involving an electronic dance machine, not the radio-show TikTok lesson. Mix94.5’s account of the dance-off covers that earlier event.
Who is Ben Cousins?
Cousins played 270 AFL games and won the 2005 Brownlow Medal, according to 7NEWS’s 2024 report. In 2026, separate reporting said he would continue as a regular guest with Pete and Kymba; that describes the lineup reported at the time, not a guarantee of his current availability.
