In Season 12 of Below Deck, deckhand Kyle Stillie is shown getting too close to the primary charter guest, Helen, in Episode 10, “Some Like it Stillie.” Bravo dates that episode to August 4, 2025. Kyle later told fellow crew members that he had sex with Helen during a beach excursion, then told Captain Kerry Titheradge that nothing happened. Kerry interviewed the crew, decided not to fire Kyle, and warned him to keep his distance from guests.
The sex claim is still an allegation. Bravo’s account records what Kyle said to crew and to Kerry, and the denials that followed. It does not establish that any sexual encounter took place.
What happens in Episode 10
Bravo’s official episode page for “Some Like it Stillie” (Season 12, Episode 10) summarizes the hour with one line: “Kyle gets handsy with the primary.” That phrase is Bravo’s own wording, and it is the clearest on-screen description the network publishes. The sequence that follows is the one Bravo reports:
- The interaction. Kyle, a deckhand, is shown with Helen, the primary charter guest, in a way that crosses the professional line Kerry later cites.
- The claim to crew. Kyle tells other crew members that he had sex with Helen during a beach excursion.
- The question to Kerry. Captain Kerry Titheradge confronts Kyle about the story. Kyle tells him that nothing happened.
- The investigation. Kerry interviews crew members about what they saw and heard.
- The outcome. Kerry does not fire Kyle. He keeps him on the boat, tells him to stay farther away from guests, and says Kyle can be reprimanded.
Bravo does not show a sexual encounter in the reporting reviewed. Kyle’s statement to crew is the only source for the sex claim, and it is a claim he later denied.

Captain Kerry’s reasoning
In his confessional, as Bravo reports it, Kerry explains why he did not dismiss Kyle:
“I can’t fire the guy on a hunch. He can be reprimanded, but at the end of the day, everyone says to me they don’t believe it, they didn’t see anything. And I can’t prove it. What can I do?”

That quote is Bravo’s report of Kerry’s confessional. It is not a verified transcript, so readers should treat the wording as Bravo’s rendering. The logic is what matters: Kerry had secondhand accusations, no witness who saw anything, and no proof. He chose a warning over termination on that basis.
Episode 11, “The Rumor Mill”
The storyline continues in Episode 11, “The Rumor Mill,” which Peacock lists directly after Episode 10. Bravo’s report on that episode says Kyle faces Kerry over the allegation and denies that anything happened. Neither Bravo’s nor Peacock’s listing for Episode 11 gives an air date in the material reviewed, so check the episode’s listing for timing.

Is Helen Hoey returning, and is she “controversial”?
The headline’s framing goes further than the reporting does, and three points need separating.
- The name. Bravo’s Season 12 report calls the guest “Helen.” It does not give her surname, Hoey, in the reporting reviewed.
- Prior appearance. A January 6, 2020 television schedule item in The Brookings Register reads “Helen Hoey and Richard Fiore return.” It does not name the show, season, or episode, so it does not confirm that Helen appeared on Below Deck before, or that she is returning in Season 12.
- Reputation. The reporting establishes one Season 12 storyline: an allegation, a denial, and a captain’s decision. It does not establish a broader reputation, so “controversial” describes the headline’s tone, not a documented record.
Where to watch and what the show covers
Bravo’s Below Deck show page places Season 12 on a charter route around Anguilla, St. Barths, and St. Maarten, and identifies Kyle Stillie as a deckhand. Bravo links viewers to Peacock for streaming, and Peacock’s Season 12 page lists the episodes, including “Some Like it Stillie” and “The Rumor Mill.”
