Chuck Norris recounted a rattlesnake bite during filming in his 2009 book, while a Texas archive’s description of raw footage documents a major explosion shoot in Irving. Here are the details those sources support, with the limits made clear.

What happened behind the scenes?
1. Chuck Norris said a rattlesnake bit him during a take
In The Official Chuck Norris Fact Book, published in 2009, Norris described filming a wooded scene with an actor-friend. They were competing to catch a large rattlesnake by hand; Norris wrote that wranglers had two large snakes they said had been de-venomed. After one take, the director asked for another. Norris recalled that the snake turned and bit his hand during the second attempt. He went to the hospital and said he had no venom in him; the director, who had run away in alarm, was found.
This is Norris’s published recollection, not an independently verified medical or on-set report. His account gives a memorable glimpse of how a second take could turn risky: “The take went very well, but the director wanted a second take.” Tyndale’s excerpt from Norris’s book

2. An Irving action sequence involved six homes
A Texas Archive of the Moving Image catalog record for 1990s raw footage taped for Entertainment Tonight describes a large action sequence involving exploding homes in Irving, Texas. The catalog says six neighborhood homes were used and notes that actors, stunt crew, directors, fire and police departments, and an FAA helicopter were involved. That is what the archive’s description records; it does not, by itself, establish how the sequence appeared in the final broadcast.

3. Norris ran with his stunt double for the explosion footage
The same archive description says Norris ran from the explosion alongside his stunt double so the shoot could capture both the character and the blast from multiple angles. The record documents the production setup, not whether every angle was used in the finished episode.
4. The series filmed in several Texas cities
The archive’s Walker, Texas Ranger collection description lists Austin, Dallas, Denton, Fort Worth, Irving and Mesquite, among other locations, and characterizes the series as primarily shot in Texas. It is a collection-level summary, not a guide to where each episode was filmed.

Why are there fewer than 15 secrets?
The title’s number promises more than these records can substantiate. Norris’s book and the archive catalog provide several specific, attributable production details, but they do not establish 15 distinct behind-the-scenes stories. Filling out that count with unsourced trivia would blur the line between documented production history and repetition or rumor.
