How does it connect to the 1988 film?
The sequel returns to the Deetz family and Winter River, and revisits the attic town model and the Afterlife. Lydia and Delia return alongside Beetlejuice, while Astrid brings a younger generation into the family’s supernatural predicament. Those connections give the follow-up a direct story bridge to the 1988 film without requiring the new central character to have appeared in it.
