What is Beast Games?
Created and hosted by Jimmy Donaldson, the YouTube creator known as MrBeast, Beast Games is a competition series built around physical challenges, intelligence tests, strategy, and a large cash prize. Amazon’s renewal announcement also names Sean Klitzner, Tyler Conklin, and Mack Hopkins as co-creators. The show streams exclusively on Prime Video, according to Amazon’s viewing guide; availability and subscription terms can vary by region.

The premise extends the spectacle of MrBeast’s online challenge videos into a multi-episode contest. A large field, elaborate challenges, and significant stakes provide an immediate hook. The trade-off is familiar to reality competition fans: the more players a show has to introduce and eliminate, the harder it can be to give individual contestants enough time to register as people rather than pieces in a game.
How many contestants are in Beast Games?
Season 1: 1,000 contestants
Season one began with 1,000 contestants competing for a stated $5 million prize. Amazon later reported that the prize ultimately grew to $10 million cash. Those are different figures: $5 million was the initial advertised amount, while $10 million was the eventual total, as described in Amazon’s renewal announcement.

Season 2: 200 players
Season two pares the field to 200 players, divided into a Strong vs. Smart competition, with a $5 million prize. It also features a Survivor crossover. Amazon’s Prime Video listing gives the season ten episodes, dated January 7 through February 25, 2026. That smaller field changes the basic setup, but it remains a large contest rather than a small-cast social experiment.
How is season 2 different from season 1?
The clearest change is the format’s emphasis: season one starts with five times as many contestants as season two, while season two puts Strong vs. Smart at the center of its setup. The later season’s described game mechanics also include bribes, voting, alliances, and strategic decisions. That variety gives the competition more than one apparent axis of conflict: players may have to assess not just whether they can complete a challenge, but whom to trust and when to make a deal. How clearly those choices play on screen is a matter for viewers to judge from the episodes; the format description by itself does not establish whether every strategic turn is easy to follow or consequential.
What do critics and viewers think of Beast Games?
Reception is divided, and aggregator scores should be treated as snapshots rather than a representative poll. When accessed in 2026, Rotten Tomatoes’ series page showed a 49% Tomatometer from 19 reviews and an 89% Popcornmeter from more than 2,500 ratings. Its season rows showed 20% for season one and 78% for season two. These scores can change as reviews and ratings are added; they describe that site’s listed reviews and user ratings, not all critics or viewers.

For a more specific criticism of season two, CinemaBlend’s review says the season has strong competition and dramatic moments but does not give viewers enough reason to care about individual competitors. That is the reviewer’s assessment, not an objective measure of the show. It points to a central question for this format: can challenges and game twists make contestants memorable when the show begins with a large field?
Is Beast Games worth watching?
The evidence supports a clear distinction, not a universal verdict. Viewers drawn to huge challenge setups, high stakes, and a competition that mixes physical, intellectual, and strategic elements will find those priorities in the show’s stated format. Viewers who primarily want sustained character portraits should weigh CinemaBlend’s criticism of season two’s contestant storytelling against their own preferences. Ratings alone cannot settle that choice, and no single Tomatometer or Popcornmeter score establishes whether the series will be worth watching for an individual.

Where can I watch Beast Games?
Beast Games is available exclusively on Prime Video, according to Amazon. Check the service’s listing for current regional availability and subscription terms. Amazon reported that the series reached No. 1 on Prime Video in more than 80 countries after launch; that is a dated platform ranking claim, not a current chart position. Amazon also said season one drew 50 million viewers in 25 days and called it the service’s most-watched unscripted show at that time. That figure is Amazon’s platform-reported milestone, not an independently audited global audience count. The figures appear in Amazon’s series guide and renewal announcement, respectively.

Amazon announced in May 2025 that the series had been renewed for two additional seasons; its later season-two guide stated that season three was also renewed. These are renewal announcements, not episode details or a guarantee of a release date. In a separate point about season one’s broadcast, the Associated Press reported on a MoneyLion giveaway promotion and consumer advocates’ concerns about the fintech app’s cash-advance products and fees. The report described eligibility for that 2024 promotion as limited to legal U.S. residents aged 18 or older; it is historical coverage, not evidence that the promotion remains open or that the advocates’ criticism was an official finding.
