That points to Hannah taking the sacrifice choice at the end of Battlefield 4—but EA has not explicitly confirmed Hannah’s death or declared that ending canonical.
What does Exodus confirm?
EA describes Exodus as an original cinematic piece released at the conclusion of The Journey of the No-Pats, exploring that story’s final chapter and reintroducing an old friend. That returning character is Kimble “Irish” Graves, whom EA identifies as a Battlefield 4 character who returns in 2042 as a prominent No-Pat leader and playable Specialist. EA’s Battlefield briefing also says Michael K. Williams, Irish’s original Battlefield 4 actor, returned to portray him.
This establishes Irish’s later appearance; it does not directly say what happened to Hannah.
What does Irish’s return imply about the Battlefield 4 ending?
In the Battlefield 4 finale, the player chooses whether Irish or Hannah volunteers to manually detonate explosives. A secondary plot summary says the chosen volunteer is reported missing in action after the warship is destroyed. Since Irish appears again in 2042, the continuity points to Hannah as the volunteer in the ending that leads to that later story.

That is a continuity inference, not an explicit confirmation from EA. “Missing in action” also does not by itself establish that Hannah died. EA’s official briefing identifies Irish’s return but does not name a Battlefield 4 ending as canon or state Hannah’s ultimate fate.
Irish or Hannah: what is confirmed?
| Question | What the available evidence establishes |
|---|---|
| Does Irish survive into the later story? | Yes. EA identifies him as returning in Battlefield 2042 as a No-Pat leader and Specialist. EA’s Battlefield briefing. |
| Did Hannah take the sacrifice choice? | That is the likely implication of Irish’s return, but EA’s briefing does not explicitly identify the selected ending. The finale mechanics are also summarized by a secondary source: Wikipedia’s Battlefield 4 plot synopsis. |
| Is Hannah confirmed dead? | No—not by the official briefing cited here. A missing-in-action report is not equivalent to an explicit confirmation of death. |
So, who is the survivor?
If “survivor” means the character confirmed to appear in the later continuity, the answer is Irish. If the question is which Battlefield 4 ending fits that continuity, it is the branch where Hannah takes the sacrifice choice. The distinction matters: Irish’s return is confirmed, while Hannah’s death and the official canon status of that particular ending are not.
