Batman in Concert brought Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on November 29 and 30, 2024, with Danny Elfman’s score performed live by Perth Symphony Orchestra as the film played on a large screen. The announced Perth performances have passed; the event is best understood as a film screening accompanied by an orchestra, not a standalone concert of Batman music.
What happened at Batman in Concert in Perth?
PerthNow reported that the 2024 event paired a screening of the 1989 film with a live performance of its score. The orchestra performed while the movie played, making the film itself part of the concert experience. PerthNow named Perth Symphony Orchestra, conductor Sarah-Grace Williams and John Foreman in connection with the Perth performances. PerthNow’s event report contains the local announcement.

Whose music was performed?
The live score was composed by Danny Elfman for Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman. It accompanied the film on screen; this was not described as a program of Batman music performed separately from the movie. The event also belonged to a wider film-with-live-orchestra concept: DC In Concert’s official material lists the 1989 Batman among its live film-score offerings.
Are there upcoming Batman in Concert dates in Perth?
The Perth dates reported were November 29 and 30, 2024, so they are historical, not upcoming. The Perth Symphony Orchestra’s official listing surfaced programming other than a current Batman performance; it does not establish a new local date. Check an official orchestra or event listing for any future screening before making plans.

Why the event format matters
In a film-in-concert performance, the movie is screened while musicians perform its score live. That differs from a conventional symphony program built around music alone: the score unfolds in time with the images, and the film remains central to the event. For Perth’s 2024 performances, the reported combination was Burton’s film, Elfman’s score and Perth Symphony Orchestra.
