Barrie Drewitt-Barlow was reported engaged to Scott Hutchison in August 2020. Contemporary reports said the proposal took place during a family holiday in Croatia and described Hutchison as having previously dated Drewitt-Barlow’s daughter, Saffron. Those reports also quoted the family describing Saffron and Hutchison as close friends, so the earlier relationship should not be stated more definitively than the coverage allows.

PerthNow and Attitude reported on 24 August 2020 that Drewitt-Barlow had announced his engagement to Scott Hutchison. The reports placed the proposal during a family holiday in Croatia. PerthNow’s report described a yacht proposal with rose petals, candles, champagne and a ring; those are details reported about the event, not independently verified here. Attitude also covered the announcement and reproduced a statement attributed to Hutchison.
What was Hutchison’s connection to Saffron?
Contemporary coverage identified Saffron as Drewitt-Barlow’s daughter and described Hutchison as having previously dated her. The same reports quoted family statements describing Saffron and Hutchison as close friends. The reports therefore support that he was described as her former boyfriend, but they also preserve the family’s characterization of their relationship.
What did the reports say about Barrie’s relationship history?
Attitude reported in November 2019 that Barrie and Tony Drewitt-Barlow had separated after a long relationship and that Barrie was then in a relationship with Scott. The article attributed personal explanations and claims about the relationship to those involved. Attitude’s 2019 report quoted Barrie saying, “I’ve fallen in love with Scott and he has done the same.” That is a statement reported at the time, not a current update.

Attitude reproduced a post attributed to Hutchison on Instagram following the announcement: “I’ll love this man til the day I die!” The quotation is attributed to Hutchison through the post reproduced in Attitude’s coverage, rather than to an independent interview.
Is Barrie Drewitt-Barlow still engaged to Scott Hutchison?
The reports establish that Hutchison was identified as Drewitt-Barlow’s fiancé in August 2020. They do not establish whether the two later married, ended their engagement or remain together. Those historical reports are not enough to determine their present-day relationship status.
