Band of Brothers follows Easy Company, the U.S. Army airborne rifle company, from training in Georgia to combat in Europe. This guide matches prominent characters with the actors who portray them and gives brief episode context. It is a practical cast list, not a complete credits database.
What is Band of Brothers about?
HBO describes Band of Brothers as a 10-part miniseries based on Stephen E. Ambrose’s nonfiction book about Easy Company. The story begins with the company’s training in Georgia in 1942 and follows its members through their parachute landing in France on D-Day morning in 1944. Easy Company was E Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division.

In a March 24, 2009 press release, Paramount said: “All of the characters portrayed in the mini-series are based on actual members of Easy Company, many of whom are featured in interviews at the beginning of each episode.” That is the company’s description of the series; the character pairings below follow published cast listings.

The episode descriptions help orient viewers without serving as a complete chronology of the war. Apple TV lists the title as an HBO miniseries released in 2001, with a ten-episode season. Its summaries describe the series’ progression:
