- Pay-TV customers: check whether your local package includes the correct FanDuel Sports Network feed.

- Selected games: some Hurricanes, Hornets, and Hawks broadcasts may also be available through free local over-the-air simulcasts.

What happened to Bally Sports South?
Bally Sports South was rebranded as FanDuel Sports Network South effective October 21, 2024. The old name remains relevant when searching for older provider lists, but current apps, support pages, schedules, and subscription information generally use the FanDuel Sports Network name.

The word “South” identifies a regional feed, not a nationwide channel. FanDuel Sports Network also operates other regional feeds, including FanDuel Sports Network Southeast. A viewer near a market boundary may receive a different feed from a viewer in the same state, and the teams available in a package can differ accordingly.
What channel is FanDuel Sports Network South?
DIRECTV: channel 646
DIRECTV’s published guide lists the South regional feed at channel 646. Its current channel materials use FanDuel Sports Network naming, although older search results may still display Bally Sports South.
Channel 646 is not a guarantee that every DIRECTV customer can watch the network. Regional-sports access depends on the service address and package. Confirm eligibility in the DIRECTV guide for your address before signing up or changing plans. See the DIRECTV channel listing for the published position.
Other cable providers
There is no single nationwide channel number for cable. A local system may place the network on a different channel in each city, and the channel may be available only in a particular package. Use your provider’s online guide or the official FanDuel Sports Network ZIP-code lookup rather than relying on a national channel list.
Older Carolina Hurricanes guidance listed Cox, DIRECTV, DIRECTV STREAM, Fubo, Mediacom, Spectrum, U-verse, and Xfinity among providers in the Hurricanes’ territory. That list should not be treated as a current guarantee for every location. In particular, Xfinity says its FanDuel Sports Network regional channels were removed from Xfinity TV on May 7, 2026. Local availability can still change independently of a team’s older provider page.
How to stream without traditional cable
1. Buy a direct FanDuel Sports Network package
The official service offers different purchase paths, including monthly access, season passes, and single-game tokens for NBA and NHL games. What appears at checkout depends on your ZIP code, home territory, sport, team rights, and the package available in that market.
This is usually the cleanest route if you want the regional network without paying for a broader live-TV bundle. However, there is no universal price or universal team package to quote safely. Enter your home ZIP code and review the live checkout page immediately before purchasing. A direct package that shows one regional feed or team in one ZIP code may show a different inventory elsewhere.
Use the phrase FanDuel Sports Network subscription when looking for the official purchase options, and verify whether the package includes the team and games you actually want.

2. Add FanDuel Sports Network to Prime Video
FanDuel Sports Network launched as a Prime Video add-on in February 2025. The launch announcement listed the add-on at $19.99 per month, but that should be treated as a launch price rather than a permanent price. Check the current Prime Video checkout page for your location.
To check availability, open Prime Video, go to its channels or subscriptions area, and search for FanDuel Sports Network. The available regional feed and team rights remain location-dependent. A standard Amazon Prime membership alone does not mean the network is included; the sports network is a separate paid add-on. The Prime Video launch announcement describes the distribution arrangement.
If your television does not have a compatible Prime Video app, an optional Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K can provide a simple way to run Prime Video and other supported streaming apps. It is a viewing device, not a subscription, and it does not bypass ZIP-code restrictions, blackouts, or package requirements.
3. Use a participating TV provider
If your cable, satellite, or live-TV streaming package includes the relevant regional network, you can generally sign in to the FanDuel Sports Network website or app with your provider credentials. The official FanDuel Sports Network FAQ describes both provider authentication and direct streaming access.
Authentication does not create access by itself. If the network is absent from your package, entering that provider’s login will not unlock it. Confirm all three items before relying on this route:
- Your service address is inside the network’s home territory.
- Your exact package includes the relevant regional feed.
- The game is assigned to that feed rather than a national broadcast, another regional feed, or a different local-rights partner.
4. Watch selected free local simulcasts
Some teams distribute selected games through local broadcast stations or free streaming platforms. These arrangements are game-specific and do not provide the complete FanDuel Sports Network schedule.
- The Hurricanes have announced local simulcasts involving WRAL and affiliated stations.
- The Hornets have announced selected over-the-air broadcasts in North Carolina and South Carolina.
- The Hawks have announced 11 free over-the-air simulcasts through Atlanta News First, Peachtree Sports Network, and other local stations during the 2025-26 season.
An indoor HDTV antenna may help receive a qualifying local broadcast if your home can receive that station’s signal. It is not a replacement for FanDuel Sports Network South and will not provide every regional game. Check the individual team schedule for the station and distribution method before buying an antenna.
Where is FanDuel Sports Network South available?
The South and Southeast regional networks cover a broad portion of the southeastern United States. Official team material identifies territory across states including:

Those state names are only a broad guide. Regional sports rights are assigned by licensed home territories, and the precise boundary may vary by team. Two homes in the same state can receive different feeds or different team inventory. The most reliable test is to enter the viewer’s home ZIP code into the official FanDuel Sports Network availability and purchase flow before subscribing.

This also matters when comparing “South” with “Southeast.” The Atlanta Hawks, for example, are generally associated with FanDuel Sports Network Southeast rather than implying that every Hawks game appears on the South feed. The applicable feed should be confirmed by ZIP code and the team’s current schedule.
Which teams are on FanDuel Sports Network South?
Carolina Hurricanes
The Hurricanes announced that FanDuel Sports Network would televise and stream 72 regular-season games during the 2025-26 season. The team identified cable, satellite, live-TV streaming, direct streaming, and Prime Video as possible viewing routes, subject to territory and provider access.
Individual 2026 Hurricanes listings continued to identify FanDuel Sports Network South and the FanDuel Sports Network app as options. That does not mean every Hurricanes game is on the regional network: some games can be assigned to national broadcasters or local simulcasts. Check the specific game listing.

The Hornets announced that FanDuel Sports Network would broadcast or stream 80 games during the 2025-26 season. Selected games were also simulcast through local over-the-air stations across North Carolina and South Carolina.
For a particular Hornets game, check whether the listing says FanDuel Sports Network, a local station, or a national broadcaster. The team’s local rights and the viewer’s ZIP code determine which option is valid.
Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks’ 2025-26 announcement identified FanDuel Sports Network—primarily the Southeast regional feed—as the home for 72 games. It also announced 11 free over-the-air simulcasts through Atlanta News First, Peachtree Sports Network, and other local stations.
Do not interpret Hawks coverage as proof that every Atlanta game is carried on FanDuel Sports Network South. Atlanta viewers should check the Southeast feed, their ZIP code, and the individual game listing.

According to the BravesVision FAQ, BravesVision replaced the previous FanDuel Sports Network South/Southeast local distribution model. The FAQ gives example channel positions including Xfinity channel 1254 and DIRECTV channel 645. These examples do not make FanDuel Sports Network South the universal 2026 home for Braves games.
If you are specifically trying to watch the Braves, begin with BravesVision’s current schedule and FAQ rather than subscribing to FanDuel Sports Network South based on an older Braves or Bally Sports guide.

- Enter your home ZIP code into the official availability tool. Review the feed, team inventory, package, and price shown for your actual address.

The app says your team is unavailable
This usually points to a home-territory or rights issue rather than an app problem. Recheck the ZIP code, the selected regional feed, and whether the team has moved to another local distribution platform, as the Braves did in 2026.
Your provider login is rejected
Provider authentication generally works only when the subscribed package includes the relevant network. Confirm the package first; an otherwise valid cable or satellite login will not necessarily unlock FanDuel Sports Network.
A game is missing even though you have the network
