No authoritative complete top-ten ranking is established by the sources cited here. The official character material and Netflix Tudum’s explainer identify standout fighters and describe their qualities, but neither supplies a definitive order for the full cast. The placements below are therefore an editorial synthesis, not a ranking attributed to the creator or publisher.

The ranking weighs demonstrated combat ability, adaptability, durability and the capacity to win against formidable opponents. It includes weapons: excluding them would unfairly discount Musashi’s defining skill. Manga continuity is the frame, rather than anime-only additions, and the strongest established version of each character is considered. That approach still leaves close matchups debatable, particularly where fighters excel in different conditions.
For the four leading contenders, official descriptions and Netflix’s discussion provide useful characterization; lower placements are less securely ordered by the cited material. Treat ranks five through ten as informed editorial judgments, not settled canon.

The 10 strongest Baki fighters
1. Yujiro Hanma
Yujiro is the best-supported number one. Official character materials call him the “strongest creature on earth” and depict combat ability on a scale that places him above the rest of the cast. His position rests not only on the epithet but on his overwhelming portrayal as a fighter with extraordinary physical power and skill. The sources do not establish a numerical measure of strength; the case for his top spot is the story’s characterization and feats.
2. Baki Hanma
Baki combines exceptional physical ability with technical skill and adaptability. He is the Underground Arena champion; Netflix Tudum’s Baki-Dou explainer says, “At the start of BAKI-DOU, Baki Hanma is the champion of the Underground Arena.” His climactic battle with Yujiro marks the point at which his father recognizes his growth. That makes Baki the most natural choice immediately below Yujiro, while not implying that he has surpassed him.
3. Miyamoto Musashi
Musashi belongs in the leading group because his swordsmanship changes the terms of a fight. With weapons included, his lethality and skill make him a serious contender against almost anyone. His placement below Baki reflects this ranking’s emphasis on broad combat ability across the story, not a claim that Baki would win every matchup. An unarmed-only list would place Musashi differently.
4. Pickle
Pickle’s defining advantage is prehistoric physicality: overwhelming natural strength, toughness and instincts shaped by survival. Netflix Tudum highlights him among the franchise’s leading fighters, while official character descriptions reinforce his unusual nature. He ranks just below Musashi here because this list includes armed combat and technical versatility; on raw strength alone, Pickle could rank higher.

5. Jack Hanma
Jack is an obvious member of the upper tier of the supporting cast: a physically formidable fighter whose story is closely tied to the Hanma family. He earns a place in this ten, but the sources cited do not establish a definitive comparison between him and the fighters ranked around him. His exact position is an editorial judgment.
6. Kaku Kaioh
Kaku represents the ranking’s technical-skill axis. His standing as a highly accomplished martial artist makes him a strong contender even beside fighters who rely more heavily on physical dominance. His placement reflects the value of technique and experience, not a claim that either guarantees victory against a stronger opponent.

7. Kaoru Hanayama
Hanayama is one of the cast’s most physically imposing fighters, making him a natural inclusion when strength and durability count. Those qualities do not translate into a universal advantage: a ranking that prioritizes refined technique or weapons could order the middle of this list differently.
8. Doppo Orochi
Doppo is a veteran martial artist with a long-standing place among the series’ formidable fighters. His technical experience supports a top-ten selection, though the available official descriptions identify him as part of a broad roster rather than settling his position against Jack, Kaku, Hanayama or Shibukawa.

9. Goki Shibukawa
Shibukawa rounds out the technically accomplished group. His inclusion recognizes the danger posed by specialized martial skill, even when a fighter is not defined by the same raw physicality as Pickle or Hanayama. His precise rank is especially sensitive to matchup and criteria.
10. Retsu Kaioh
Retsu is a defensible final selection for a list that includes the franchise’s broad range of elite martial artists. This position is the least firm in the ranking: the cited character materials confirm a deep supporting cast but do not support a conclusive ordering of the contenders outside the leading group. Other readers may reasonably select a different fighter for the last place.

The official Baki-Dou character page describes Baki, Yujiro, Musashi, Pickle and the wider roster, while Netflix Tudum highlights the leading fighters and their contrasting strengths. These sources support Yujiro at number one and a leading group around Baki, Musashi and Pickle; they do not publish a complete ranked top ten. A 2026 Popverse interview with Akita Shoten representative Yuki Yokoi discusses strength as a core theme of the franchise, not a character-by-character ranking.
The franchise’s manga is extensive: Yokoi described it in that interview as comprising more than 150 volumes. That is an interview-era volume-count statement, not a strength statistic or a fixed current total.
