Bad Bunny said “ICE out” while accepting Best Música Urbana Album at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on February 1, 2026. He followed the slogan by rejecting dehumanizing descriptions of immigrants and affirming, “We are humans and we are Americans.” Later, after winning Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, he made a separate dedication to people who left their homelands to pursue their dreams.
What Bad Bunny said while accepting Best Música Urbana Album
Accepting the award for Best Música Urbana Album for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, Bad Bunny opened with: “Before I say thanks to God, I’m gonna say: ICE out.” The Recording Academy’s published recap attributes the next lines to him: “We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans.” (Recording Academy)
The Recording Academy characterized the speech as a rebuke of dehumanizing rhetoric directed at immigrants, particularly Latin Americans. The Associated Press described it as an anti-ICE message emphasizing the humanity of all people. The short slogan itself did not set out a detailed policy proposal. (Associated Press)
CBS News reported that Bad Bunny also said, “The only thing that’s more powerful than hate is love,” and, “If we fight, we have to do it with love.” The report described applause and standing ovations after his remarks. (CBS News)

Two awards, two separate speeches

In that separate speech, the Associated Press reported, he dedicated the award “to all the people who had to leave their homeland to follow their dreams.” (Associated Press)
The Recording Academy describes the album as the first non-English-language album to win Album of the Year. The Associated Press calls it the first Spanish-language album to take the top prize.
