How much did Bad Boys: Ride or Die cost to make?
The Numbers lists a $100 million production budget for Bad Boys: Ride or Die. The Associated Press also described the budget as about $100 million in its 2024 opening-weekend report. This is a production-budget figure, not a verified total for marketing, distribution, or other costs.
The film is officially titled Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Sony identifies it as a 2024 film starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Sony Pictures’ official film page provides the cast and premise.
How much did Bad Boys: Ride or Die make at the box office?
Sony reported $405 million in combined box-office results for the film in its FY2024 fourth-quarter supplemental information, published in 2025. The table breaks that total into $194 million in North America and $211 million internationally. Sony says its North American figures are based on Box Office Mojo and international figures on Sony Pictures Releasing International; it also notes that international results vary by fiscal year with the timing of territorial releases. Sony’s FY2024 supplemental information is the source for these rounded figures.

The Numbers lists a more precise worldwide total of $400,526,237. That database figure and Sony’s rounded $405 million fiscal-year result are different reported totals; they should not be combined or treated as if they were the same measurement. The Numbers’ film page lists its worldwide total and production budget.
How did its opening compare with Bad Boys for Life?
The Associated Press reported an estimated $56 million North American opening weekend for Ride or Die in 2024, alongside $48.6 million internationally in that weekend’s reporting. AP compared its domestic debut with the $62.5 million opening of Bad Boys for Life in 2020. The fourth film therefore opened below its predecessor domestically, though the releases came in different periods and market conditions.

AP described Ride or Die as Will Smith’s first theatrical test since the Oscars incident. Its opening and eventual worldwide gross marked a meaningful theatrical comeback, but “reclaims the box office throne” is not accurate if it means the franchise’s all-time worldwide record.
Did Ride or Die become the biggest Bad Boys movie?
No. AP’s contemporary coverage put Bad Boys for Life’s worldwide gross at $426 million, above Sony’s $405 million reported total for Ride or Die and The Numbers’ $400,526,237 figure. On the reported worldwide totals, the 2024 film did not surpass its predecessor.

Was Bad Boys: Ride or Die profitable?
The available figures do not establish net profit or a precise break-even point. The $100 million figure is the production budget, while the $405 million figure is theatrical box-office gross—not the amount Sony received. A profit calculation would also need reliable all-in costs, distribution terms, and the studio’s share of theatrical receipts. Subtracting the production budget from the worldwide gross would therefore give a misleading answer.
