What is Avengers: Endgame Encore?
It is a limited theatrical return of Avengers: Endgame before the next Avengers film, rather than a new feature-length installment. The local branding varies: Japan and the UK use “Encore,” while the Latin American announcement calls the event “Bonus.” Use the title and dates shown by the cinema in your market.

Marvel Japan’s announcement includes a statement from Endgame director Joe Russo about the connection to the next film: 「『ドゥームズデイ』の物語を追うために『エンドゲーム』を見ること自体が重要になってきます。」 A close English rendering is, “Watching Endgame itself is becoming important to following the story of Doomsday.” The English wording is a translation of the Japanese statement.
What new footage is in the re-release?
Disney UK’s September 28 report says the Encore presentation includes an exclusive look at Avengers: Doomsday. It says an additional sneak peek is available at IMAX and Infinity Vision-certified screenings. Disney Latin America’s announcement also describes a Doomsday preview and an additional preview for IMAX and Infinity Vision screenings.
Those details apply to the cited markets and announcements; they do not establish identical content in every country or theater. The reviewed official material does not give a scene-by-scene description of the added footage, so its specific contents should not be assumed.
Do you need to watch Endgame before Doomsday?
Russo’s comment underscores the story connection, but it is not an official rule that audiences must attend this re-release. Disney’s Disney+ guide says viewers do not need to watch every Marvel movie before Doomsday. The guide is viewing advice, not a claim that the re-release is required viewing. What do the reported box-office figures show?
Disney UK’s September 28, 2026 report gives these figures for the re-release and the film’s cumulative gross. They are studio-reported numbers, not an independent audience study.

Marvel Japan’s July 30 announcement separately rounded Endgame‘s global gross to about $2.8 billion and compared it with Avatar at about $2.9 billion, using an exchange-rate conversion of 150 yen per dollar. That earlier rounded estimate and Disney UK’s later $2.885 billion figure use different dates and precision, so they should not be treated as the same measurement.
