Actress Ava Grace May is the named defendant in a reported defamation lawsuit filed by YouTuber Levi Trumbull in Baltimore County Circuit Court on December 8, 2025. According to the reporting, the complaint alleges that May published Instagram statements accusing Trumbull of stalking and harassing her and her family. These are allegations from secondary reporting. No court finding on the merits has been reported, and May’s side of the dispute is not part of the public record reviewed here.

What is reported about the filing

The lawsuit is described as a defamation claim brought by Trumbull against May. The dispute is reported to have started with Instagram posts published on September 15, 2025, and the complaint was reportedly filed in Baltimore County Circuit Court on December 8, 2025. The reporting we reviewed comes from one detailed secondary article and two online accounts that repeat similar details. None of these is an official complaint, court docket, or order, so the filing date and court should be checked against the court’s own records before they are repeated as settled facts.

The allegations, and whose account they reflect

The central allegation is that May accused Trumbull of stalking and harassment in her Instagram posts. Every version of that claim currently comes from the plaintiff’s side. The reporting does not establish that the posts were false, and it does not establish that either person committed a crime. The exact wording of the posts, as reproduced in secondary accounts, has not been matched against the original posts or any filing, so those passages should be read as paraphrase rather than verified quotation.

No public response from May appears in the reporting reviewed. Readers should treat the allegations as one side of an active dispute.

What the complaint reportedly asks for

One online account reports that the complaint seeks the following. These are requests, not awards.

  • General damages: the account says the complaint sought at least $30,000.
  • Retraction and apology: a public retraction of the statements and a formal apology.
  • Injunctive relief: a court order directing conduct, as requested in the filing.
  • Interest and costs: additional amounts requested alongside damages.

The $30,000 figure appears only in secondary accounts. It should be attributed to them, not presented as the filed amount.

The January 2026 default order

One online account reports that a default order was entered on January 20, 2026, because May had not filed a response. A default order generally means the court proceeded without the defendant’s answer after the response deadline passed. It is a procedural step. It does not by itself decide how much, if anything, a plaintiff would be owed, and it is not a final damages judgment.

This event has not been confirmed through an official court source in the material reviewed. The reporting does not show whether the case was later resolved, whether damages were set, or whether the order was challenged. Nothing reviewed indicates the case has ended.

What is not established

  • Whether the posts were false or defamatory under the governing law.
  • Whether May has responded to the complaint, or whether she disputes it.
  • Whether any damages have been awarded, and in what amount.
  • Whether the retraction, apology, or injunction has been ordered.
  • The current status of the case, including any appeal, settlement, or dismissal.

How to check the current docket

  1. Open the Maryland Judiciary Case Search portal and select the circuit court search option.
  2. Filter to Baltimore County Circuit Court and search by party name, first for Ava Grace May and then for Levi Trumbull.
  3. Look for a case with a filing date in December 2025 and review its docket entries for any order dated January 2026.
  4. Read the most recent disposition entry. A pending entry means the case is still open; a judgment, dismissal, or settlement entry changes the picture.
  5. If no matching record appears, treat the reported filing as unconfirmed and do not repeat the details as court-verified facts.

Where a docket entry conflicts with secondary reporting, the docket controls. Later events may also exist that the reporting does not mention.

Until the docket is checked, the defensible summary is narrow: a defamation lawsuit has been reported, the plaintiff’s allegations concern Instagram posts, and a default order has been reported without official confirmation.
