The Australian Open 2025 feature introduced five women connected to prominent men’s tennis players: Morgan Riddle, Costeen Hatzi, Paige Lorenze, Ayan Broomfield and Sophia Thomalla. It is a dated lifestyle snapshot published on January 13, 2025—not an official tournament roster or a current directory. Each woman has a public profile or work beyond her relationship, from fashion and content creation to entrepreneurship and tennis.
What “WAG” means—and why the label needs context
WAG stands for “wives and girlfriends”; the PerthNow headline also uses “TWAGs.” The shorthand is familiar in sports coverage but can reduce women to their relationships. W Magazine has noted the term’s dismissive history. Paige Lorenze told the magazine she did not object to the word itself, but disliked the implication that she was “just a WAG.” The profiles below therefore lead with each person’s name and work.
The original Australian Open feature appeared in PerthNow on January 13, 2025, just before the tournament. Its descriptions reflect that publication context; they should not be read as confirmation of anyone’s present-day relationship or employment status.
Who the Australian Open 2025 feature covered
Morgan Riddle and Taylor Fritz
PerthNow described Riddle as a model and influencer and reported that she and Taylor Fritz had been dating for four years at the time. She also appeared in Netflix’s Break Point. An Associated Press report published July 11, 2025, described Riddle as a fashion influencer who attends tournaments and creates fashion content. In that report, Fritz credited her support with helping him stay focused; that is his account, not evidence that a partner determines a player’s results.

Riddle has described tennis-inspired fashion as broader than a uniform of pleated skirts and vintage polos, calling it “aspirational minimalism with a competitive edge.” The observation helps explain why courtside style and creator content have become part of the tournament’s public-facing coverage.
Paige Lorenze and Tommy Paul
PerthNow described Lorenze as an entrepreneur who owns the brands Dairy Boy and American Charm, and reported that she and Tommy Paul had been partners since 2022. On July 14, 2025, Tennis.com reported their engagement announcement. That later milestone updates the story beyond the January feature, but it does not establish their status in October 2026.

Costeen Hatzi and Nick Kyrgios
PerthNow described Hatzi as a digital creator and reported that she was involved with Stan’s broadcast team during the 2025 Australian Open. These are details from the article’s 2025 context, not confirmation of current employment or relationship status. The feature also quoted Hatzi calling the Australian Open her favourite tournament, citing its crowd, atmosphere and energy.
Ayan Broomfield and Frances Tiafoe
PerthNow described Broomfield as a former college tennis player, brand partner and founder of a nonprofit foundation. W Magazine also profiled her and noted that she played college tennis at UCLA. Those details show a profile rooted in tennis as well as public-facing partnerships; they do not make her simply an appendage to Frances Tiafoe’s career.

Sophia Thomalla and Alexander Zverev
PerthNow described Thomalla as a German presenter and former model and reported on her relationship with Alexander Zverev in 2025. The article also referred to allegations and a settlement. Because this is sensitive legal context and the available reporting here does not provide a current authoritative account, it is better not to repeat or characterize those claims without up-to-date sourcing.

For scale, Tennis Australia’s 2025 post-event recap reported 1,102,303 fans through the gates over the 15-day main draw and 1,218,831 visitors to Melbourne Park across the three-week event. Those are tournament attendance figures, not measurements of the profiles’ audiences or commercial influence.
