Short answer: AudFree Spotify Music Converter, marketed in current storefronts as AudFree SpoDable, advertises exporting Spotify tracks, albums and playlists as ordinary MP3, FLAC, WAV, AAC, M4A or M4B files on Windows and macOS. That is fundamentally different from Spotify Premium’s official offline downloads, which remain playable inside the Spotify app. AudFree may suit someone who specifically needs transferable audio files, but it is not Spotify-approved, does not create ownership of Spotify’s catalogue, and does not automatically make copying or commercial use lawful.
What AudFree SpoDable is supposed to do
AudFree’s product is a paid desktop application for Windows and macOS. G2’s product listing describes support for Spotify Free and Premium accounts and lists MP3, FLAC, WAV, AAC, M4A and M4B output formats (G2 product listing). AudFree-associated descriptions say users can import a Spotify track, album, playlist or other supported link, choose output settings, and process items in a batch.
Public descriptions use inconsistent terms such as “download,” “convert,” “extract” and “record.” Unless AudFree’s current documentation identifies the underlying method, it is safer not to describe it as a particular form of DRM removal or direct downloading. The dependable distinction is the result AudFree advertises: standard audio files outside the normal Spotify-app download system.
A recent third-party review says the workflow includes drag-and-drop importing or pasting a Spotify link, selecting format and audio parameters, editing ID3 information and starting conversion (AudCable review). Those are documented or advertised steps, not an independently verified hands-on test.

AudFree versus Spotify Premium offline downloads
Spotify Premium’s official download feature is designed for offline playback in Spotify. Spotify says Premium users can download music, while Free users can download podcasts but not music (Spotify offline downloads). Spotify also advertises up to 10,000 downloaded songs per device on as many as five devices, with periodic account reconnection required (Premium benefits).

Spotify says offline downloads can disappear after 30 days without reconnection, an app reinstall, exceeding the device limit or using an outdated app (Spotify offline troubleshooting). If your only goal is travel or commuting playback on a phone, tablet or laptop, Premium is simpler and carries fewer uncertainties.
How AudFree’s advertised workflow works
- Install the Windows or Mac edition. Use the vendor’s official distribution channel and check which Spotify client the edition requires.
- Open Spotify if required. Public descriptions refer to the desktop application or a Spotify link; they do not establish universal web-player support.
- Add content. Drag a track, album or playlist into AudFree or paste a copied Spotify URL.
- Choose output settings. Select a format and, where offered, bitrate, sample rate, codec, channel, output folder and conversion speed.
- Start the batch. Let the job finish, then review the completed-item list rather than assuming every playlist entry succeeded.
- Inspect the files. Open the destination folder, play samples in a second media player and check tags, artwork, duration and filenames.
Import a single track first. A short test exposes login, link, permission and metadata problems before a large playlist consumes time and storage.

Formats, quality and metadata
Output formats
The formats publicly listed for AudFree are MP3, FLAC, WAV, AAC, M4A and M4B (G2). The available evidence does not establish that Windows and Mac editions expose exactly the same choices, so confirm the format list in the edition you intend to buy.
Why “lossless” needs qualification
AudFree-associated material claims preservation of original quality and output up to 320 kbps (AudCable review). That is a marketing claim, not proof that every output matches the source. Spotify’s source quality, account tier, catalogue availability, selected settings and the actual conversion method all matter. Writing a lossy stream into a FLAC or WAV container does not restore information that was already discarded. Spotify says Premium can reach up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC on supported content, but availability is not universal (Spotify Premium benefits).
Tags and artwork
Public descriptions say AudFree can retain or edit ID3 tags. They support a general metadata claim, but not a guarantee that every release will preserve title, artist, album, artwork, track number, genre, album artist or disc information correctly. Compilations, deluxe editions, remasters and duplicate titles are common sources of mismatches. Verify tags in a dedicated editor if library organization matters.

Compatibility and limitations to check
AudFree storefront material distinguishes Windows and Mac versions, but the sources available here do not provide a reliable, current system-requirements table. Before paying, verify exact Windows and macOS versions, Intel and Apple Silicon support, whether the Spotify desktop app is mandatory, disk-space needs, administrator requirements and trial restrictions. Do not substitute AudiFab’s requirements for AudFree’s.
- Playlist size, repeated tracks and long or unusual filenames can expose batch failures.
- Podcasts, audiobooks, radio entries, local files and region-restricted tracks may not behave like ordinary songs.
- Spotify client updates, expired sessions and network interruptions can prevent links from loading or stop jobs midway.
- A lifetime licence cannot guarantee compatibility with future Spotify changes.
- A claimed “5×” speed in a June 30, 2026 review is not an independent benchmark; actual speed varies with playlist size, computer, network and method (review).
- G2 shows one review and a 4.0/5 rating, far too small a sample to establish reliability (G2).

Safety and privacy: what is and is not established
The available material is insufficient to declare AudFree universally safe, malware-free or privacy-preserving. Vendor assurances are not independent verification. Before installation, download only from a verifiable vendor domain and check the installer’s digital signature and reputable antivirus reputations. Review the privacy policy, refund process, update history and support channel.
Pay particular attention to credential handling. Determine whether the program opens the Spotify client, requests a password directly or sends information to a remote service. Do not give a Spotify password to support staff. Monitor the installer for bundled software and, if your security tools flag it, pause rather than bypass the warning without investigating the exact detection.

There is no universal yes-or-no answer. The result depends on your country, the purpose of the copy, your rights in the content, applicable format-shifting and circumvention exceptions, and whether files are shared or used commercially.

Spotify’s U.S. Terms of Use, marked “Last Updated: August 26, 2025,” describe access as personal and non-commercial, state that content is licensed rather than sold, and restrict redistribution (Spotify U.S. Terms). Spotify’s User Guidelines also address copying, ripping, recording, transferring and circumvention, subject to the agreements and applicable law (Spotify User Guidelines).
Therefore, AudFree’s ability to create a playable file does not establish permission to copy, upload, sell, share, broadcast or use a track in a video, advertisement, podcast, livestream, shop, restaurant, school or other public setting. Spotify says its service is not for public or commercial playback and points businesses toward Soundtrack (Spotify commercial-use guidance; Soundtrack). Consult local copyright guidance for your jurisdiction.
Troubleshooting common failures
Spotify content will not load
- Confirm the track plays normally in Spotify and copy a fresh link.
- Restart Spotify and AudFree, then test one track.
- Check whether the edition requires the desktop app rather than the web player.
- Try a non-restricted item and update only from the official vendor source.
- Contact support without sharing your Spotify password.
A batch stops
- Retry a short playlist and use a local folder with write permission.
- Check free disk space, sleep settings and antivirus interference.
- Avoid simultaneous jobs and record failed track names for individual retries.
Files sound poor or tags are wrong
- Compare actual bitrate and sample rate with the selected settings.
- Test another format and a second player.
- Do not treat FLAC or WAV as proof of a lossless source.
- Inspect tags on a small export before processing a large library.
Who should choose AudFree?

- Someone who specifically needs standard files for personally owned, unsupported playback hardware.

Verdict
AudFree SpoDable is a real desktop product with an advertised purpose that differs from Spotify Premium’s offline mode: it claims to produce ordinary audio files in common formats. That can solve a narrow hardware-compatibility problem, but the public evidence does not independently establish its conversion method, safety, quality, reliability or long-term compatibility. Prices vary by country, subscriptions can auto-renew, and a lifetime purchase is not a promise that Spotify will remain compatible forever.
Choose Spotify Premium when you simply need official offline playback. Consider AudFree only when transferable files are genuinely necessary and you have checked the current edition, price, privacy terms and the copyright and Spotify-policy implications of your intended use. For multi-service needs, compare AudiCable; for business or public playback, use a properly licensed service rather than a converter.
