No new season of Charlotte or Angel Beats! has been officially announced in the official materials reviewed as of October 8, 2026. No release date or confirmed production plan for either series was found. That is an announcement check, not proof that a continuation will never happen.
What is confirmed about new seasons?
Neither Aniplex’s official Charlotte page nor the official Angel Beats! news archive surfaced a new-season announcement in the materials reviewed. Those pages contain dated historical notices; their current contents cannot guarantee what may be announced in the future.

There is no confirmed production start or release date to report for either series. Treat claims of a scheduled sequel as unconfirmed unless they point to an official announcement.
Why are the two series often discussed together?
Both are original anime associated with writer Jun Maeda, but that connection does not establish a shared sequel plan. Aniplex describes Charlotte as a new original anime by Maeda, launched five years after Angel Beats! began airing. The P.A.WORKS credits list Maeda for the original story and script, Na-Ga for character design concepts, and P.A.WORKS as the animation studio.

In an interview on the official Charlotte site, Maeda recalled that the project began after Aniplex producer Yōsuke Toba approached him around the start of 2012. He also described P.A.WORKS president Kenji Horikawa’s interest in working with him again after Angel Beats!.
The December 22, 2014 notice said the Angel Beats! official account would become a joint account for updates on both series. That is evidence of cross-promotion, not confirmation that one series would continue the other.

Older releases and broadcasts can keep a series visible without indicating that a new season is in production. Aniplex listed a Charlotte Blu-ray Disc BOX for release on October 14, 2020; that historical listing does not establish present-day stock. The Angel Beats! news archive includes a 2020 rebroadcast notice and a 2016 notice about the special episode “Hell’s Kitchen.” None of these notices confirms a new season.
Streaming availability is not established by the official sources reviewed here. Catalogs vary by territory and date, so a past broadcast notice should not be taken as proof that either show is currently available on a particular service.

What to look for in a real announcement
- A notice from the series’ official site or an official rights-holder channel that explicitly confirms a sequel or new season.
- Production details or a release window stated by an official source. A rerun, disc release, anniversary post, or joint-account update alone is not confirmation.
