That rapport helps explain why their performances can feel spontaneous, but it should not be mistaken for evidence about their private lives. The interviews describe how they worked together and how they regarded one another then.
Are Thor and Loki brothers in real life?
No. Thor and Loki are fictional brothers in the Marvel stories; Hiddleston and Hemsworth are actors who play them. In discussing the roles, the actors spoke separately about their own friendship and about how experiences with siblings could inform scenes. As STARBURST’s coverage of the Thor: The Dark World press conference illustrates, inspiration from sibling relationships is creative context, not proof that the actors share the characters’ family history or conflicts.

What later public comments do—and do not—tell us
A July 15, 2016 TIME report recounted Hemsworth saying Hiddleston looked happy while they were filming Thor: Ragnarok. Hemsworth also said he had not personally met Taylor Swift at that point. This is a dated anecdote, not an update on the actors’ relationship today.
The clearest supported conclusion is that Hiddleston and Hemsworth publicly described a genuine friendship and a trusting creative partnership in interviews around 2013, with a later friendly anecdote reported in 2016. Those sources do not establish the present-day frequency of their contact or whether their relationship has changed.
