Shakira and Lucien Laviscount were described as casually seeing each other in April 2024 reports based on unnamed sources, but neither person directly confirmed a relationship in the material cited here. A March 2026 report said the renewed rumors relied on old images and found no recent direct confirmation. That does not establish what their private status was or is.
What was reported in April 2024?
On April 10, Us Weekly reported, citing an unnamed insider, that Shakira was “casually seeing” Laviscount. The outlet connected their reported chemistry to the set of Shakira’s “Puntería” music video, in which Laviscount appeared as her love interest.

The Miami Herald reported on April 4 that the two had been photographed at dinner in New York after Shakira’s Times Square performance. Being seen together is a reported sighting; it does not, by itself, confirm that they were a couple.
In a second report on April 17, Us Weekly again attributed its account to an unnamed source, describing the connection as casual and “not that serious at the moment.” Those descriptions concern what the source told the outlet then, not a verified account of either person’s private life.

Did Laviscount or Shakira confirm they were dating?
No direct confirmation appears in the cited material. In a May 2024 Us Weekly interview, Laviscount praised Shakira’s artistry and work ethic and explained how he was cast in the video while filming Emily in Paris. His compliment—“She’s one of the most beautiful, hard-working people I’ve ever met”—was praise, not confirmation of a romance.
Why did the rumor resurface in 2026?
On March 3, 2026, Ellas reported that renewed speculation was circulating alongside old 2024 promotional and dinner images. It also said some viral images or videos were AI-created and that it found no direct statement or recent official post from Shakira or Laviscount confirming the relationship. That report describes what Ellas found in the renewed rumor cycle; it is not proof of either person’s private status.
