Why some answer pages disagree
A separate archive page also labels a different set of groups as April 1, 2024 and #295. It was posted March 31 and lists bridges, Nobel categories, literary detectives, and obsolete scientific theories. That conflicts with Parade’s dated account of the emoji puzzle. For this date-specific answer, the groups above follow Parade’s April 1 report; the conflicting listing is available at Connections Answers.
How Connections works
Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four that share a theme. Groups are color-coded by difficulty, from yellow as easiest to purple as trickiest, and some words may seem to fit more than one category. The New York Times Help Center says daily play is free and the game releases at midnight in the player’s timezone; archive access is limited to All Access and Games subscribers. Check the official Connections help page for current access details.
