The Lumon Terminal Pro is the clearest example: a computer from Severance that Apple featured in its Mac shopping experience in March 2025 to promote Apple TV+. The iPod Flea, by contrast, is described as a 2005 Saturday Night Live parody of the race to make Apple’s music players smaller.
What counts as an Apple fake product?
These creations borrow Apple’s recognizable design language or marketing style, but they do not share one origin. Some exist inside a fictional story, some are jokes about Apple, and some are promotions for real entertainment. Comparing them by performance would miss the point: they are not consumer products with verified specifications.
| Example | Origin | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Lumon Terminal Pro | Fictional computer in Severance | World-building in the series; later featured in an Apple TV+ promotion |
| iPod Flea | Described by The Mac Observer as a 2005 Saturday Night Live parody | Satirize the trend toward ever-smaller music players |
Lumon Terminal Pro: a fictional computer used in a real promotion
The Lumon Terminal Pro belongs to the world of Apple TV+ series Severance; it is not a consumer Mac model. In March 2025, Apple placed the fictional computer in its Mac shopping experience as a promotion for the series. TechCrunch reported that the listing was advertising, not an offer to buy the terminal, and MacRumors likewise noted that it was not for sale. TechCrunch’s March 26, 2025 report and MacRumors’ coverage describe the screen, keyboard, and trackball as features of the on-screen design, not specifications for a real product.
Was the Lumon Terminal Pro real, and can you buy it?
It was real as a fictional prop and as a temporary promotional listing, but the computer was not actually for sale. The sources reviewed do not establish an official physical replica, kit, or merchandise listing. Treat any claim that it is an available Apple computer as a misunderstanding of the promotion.

How Apple brought Lumon into the real world
Apple also staged a Severance-themed event at Bell Works in New Jersey on April 5, 2025. Its announcement describes recreated office sets, a Lumon Access card, and other themed elements. The event extended the series’ fictional world into a promotion; it does not establish that the terminal or other props were sold. Apple’s event announcement documents the date and setting.
iPod Flea: the joke about making an iPod impossibly small
The Mac Observer’s 2025 roundup attributes the iPod Flea to a 2005 Saturday Night Live parody. Its joke was an absurdly tiny music player, pushed to the point that it could easily be lost. The roundup describes the parody advertisement as claiming “eight million songs”; that is a joke, not a real capacity specification. The Mac Observer’s description is secondary reporting, and the evidence available here does not establish the original sketch transcript or broadcast details.

Other names in the fake-product roundup
The same Mac Observer roundup names the iPad Maxi, MacBook Wheel, iBall, iHand, and iPhone DS. The available documentation does not independently establish each item’s origin, date, or exact content, so these names are best treated as leads to verify rather than as equally well-documented examples. Without original ads, sketches, archived pages, or creator material, more specific descriptions would be uncertain.

Apple said in April 2025 that both released seasons of Severance were then streaming globally on Apple TV+. That is a dated statement, not a guarantee of current availability in every country; catalog access can change by date and territory. Apple’s April 2025 announcement is the source for that availability statement.
