In the United States, an individual Apple TV subscription costs $14.99 per month after an advertised seven-day free trial. It gives you on-demand access to Apple Originals, including shows and films, without ads; it does not cover third-party subscriptions or rentals and purchases in the Apple TV app. You can watch through the Apple TV app on supported devices or on the web—an Apple TV 4K box is optional, not required.
Apple now brands the service as Apple TV, though many viewers still call it Apple TV+. Prices, trials, sports coverage, and bundle terms below reflect Apple’s US pages accessed October 9, 2026. Offers can change, so check the terms shown at signup.
How much does Apple TV cost in the US?
Apple advertises an individual subscription for $14.99 per month after a free seven-day trial. The trial is an offer, not a guarantee that every account is eligible. Check the price, eligibility, and renewal terms Apple presents before confirming signup. The subscription renews monthly unless cancelled under the terms shown for the account.
Apple also lists bundle routes that include Apple TV. Their value depends on whether you want the other services in the bundle, not just on the headline price. If Apple TV is the only service you plan to use, compare the individual price with the total cost of each bundle rather than treating the bundle discount as a saving by default.

| Individual Apple TV | $14.99 per month after a free seven-day trial | Trial eligibility and the price shown at signup |
| Apple One Individual | $21.95 per month | Whether its other included services are useful to you |
| Apple One Family | $27.95 per month | Whether your household would use its other included services |
| Apple One Premier | $39.95 per month | Whether its broader service bundle fits your household |
| Apple TV + Peacock | Apple advertises savings of over 30% for the bundle choices on its service page | Current plan prices and terms; Apple says the launch offer has no free trial, discounted offers, or annual plans |
Prices and bundle claims in the table are Apple’s advertised US terms accessed October 9, 2026, not independent price comparisons. The Peacock bundle terms are particularly liable to change. Apple’s pages do not establish the detailed plan prices in the bundle here, so compare the current options on Apple’s page rather than assuming a fixed saving.
The individual plan gives you a straightforward point of comparison: the amount Apple advertises for Apple TV itself, before any offer that appears for your account. Apple One and Apple TV + Peacock are different kinds of comparisons because they include other services. Their higher total monthly prices may still make sense if you would otherwise pay for those services separately, but they are not automatically less expensive for a person who only wants Apple Originals.
Apple One trial and renewal
Apple says services in an Apple One subscription that you do not already have are free for the first month. If you already subscribe to one of those services, that existing subscription may continue to be billed separately during the Apple One trial. After the trial, Apple One automatically renews monthly unless cancelled.
That means the first-month offer should not be read as a blanket promise that every Apple One service is free to every customer for a month. Check which services you already have and the charges that may continue during the trial. Also compare the price after the trial, since that is the recurring monthly amount to consider when deciding whether to keep the bundle.
Free access through an Apple device purchase
Apple advertises three months of Apple TV with the purchase of an Apple device, provided the offer is redeemed within 90 days. Eligibility and the precise device and redemption terms should be confirmed when claiming it.
The offer is tied to an eligible purchase and a redemption window; it is not simply a general three-month trial available to every Apple TV viewer. If you recently bought an Apple device, check the offer Apple shows and note the deadline. If you are considering a device only to get the offer, compare the cost of the device with the price of the subscription you actually want—the streaming service itself does not require Apple TV hardware.
Access through the Apple Music Student Plan
Apple says Apple TV access is included with the Apple Music Student Plan. Apple also advertises a one-month free period for the student plan. That is access through a separate student plan, not a standalone, unlimited free Apple TV subscription.
For a student, the relevant comparison is therefore the student plan’s current terms and the value of its included services, rather than a separate Apple TV-only student price. Verify that the student offer is available to you, what the plan costs after its free period, and how its billing works before signing up.

Possibly, if Apple shows an offer you qualify for. The standard individual route is advertised with a seven-day trial; a qualifying Apple-device purchase may come with a three-month offer redeemed within 90 days; and Apple TV access comes with the Apple Music Student Plan. These routes have different eligibility rules and are not interchangeable. Verify the offer presented to you and note when any paid subscription begins.

Apple says the Apple TV + Peacock bundle does not have a free trial at launch. Apple One has a different trial rule: its first month is free for services in the bundle that you do not already subscribe to, while existing subscriptions may still be charged separately.
In practical terms, “free” can refer to several distinct things: a trial of the individual subscription, a limited offer attached to buying an Apple device, or Apple TV access within another plan. None should be assumed to apply without checking the terms for your account. An offer may have a redemption deadline or may lead to a paid recurring subscription after the promotional period, so review the end date, subsequent price, and renewal terms displayed before you confirm.
If no offer appears, do not assume that a trial advertised elsewhere will be available to you. Apple describes the seven-day trial as an advertised offer, and eligibility should be confirmed at signup. Similarly, the device offer depends on purchase and redemption terms, and the student route is tied to Apple Music Student Plan eligibility.

Apple describes the subscription as access to hundreds of Apple Original shows and films, with new releases each week. Apple Originals are available on demand and without ads. A subscription is not an all-access pass to everything visible in the Apple TV app.
“Apple TV” can refer both to the subscription service and to the Apple TV app, where the service and other viewing options appear. Seeing a title in the app does not by itself mean it is part of your subscription. Look at the title’s listing and whether it is identified as included, or whether the app instead asks you to subscribe to another service, rent, or buy it.
What is included—and what is not
- Included: Apple Originals available through the subscription, including shows and movies.
- Not included: third-party subscription services and content offered for rent or purchase inside the Apple TV app. Apple states: “Apple TV subscription does not include third-party subscription services, or content available for rental or purchase on the Apple TV app.”
If a title in the app requires another subscription, a rental, or a purchase, the Apple TV subscription alone does not cover that charge. Check the title’s listing before assuming it is included. The distinction matters if you are comparing the service with a larger channel or entertainment package: Apple’s subscription is for the Apple Originals it makes available through the service, not a pass that pays for every provider represented in the app.
Apple describes Apple Originals as commercial-free and on demand. That describes the subscription’s Originals, not every third-party service or transaction that may be accessible from the Apple TV app. Separate subscriptions may have their own terms, and a rental or purchase remains distinct from the monthly Apple TV subscription.

Sports coverage
Apple’s current US service page lists Friday Night Baseball during the regular season and says MLS and Formula 1 coverage starts in 2026. Apple describes Formula 1 access as US-only. Sports schedules and rights can vary by season and territory; check Apple’s current listing for the events, dates, and geographic terms available to you rather than treating a league mention as a promise of every match or race.
Sports availability is best checked close to the date you plan to watch. A service page listing a sport or league does not establish a specific event schedule, that every game or race is included, or that coverage is available outside the United States. Friday Night Baseball is described for the regular season; MLS and Formula 1 coverage are stated to start in 2026. Confirm current schedules, any geographic limits, and the details of the coverage you want before subscribing for sports alone.

These are rights and offerings that can change, so do not use an older season’s schedule as a guarantee of current access. In particular, Formula 1 is listed as US-only in Apple’s current description. If you travel or live outside the United States, verify what Apple makes available in your location.
Can I share an Apple TV subscription with my family?
Apple says one Apple TV subscription can be shared with up to six people total through Family Sharing. This is a total of six people, not six additional people beyond the account holder. If you need multiple household members to watch, compare that sharing arrangement with a bundle’s terms and your existing Apple services before choosing a plan.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Sharing can change the value calculation: the individual subscription may be enough for a household that wants Apple TV and can use the stated Family Sharing allowance. But do not assume that a bundle has identical sharing terms just because it also includes Apple TV. Check the relevant plan details and current Apple instructions for setting up Family Sharing if you are choosing a plan around multiple viewers.
Apple’s stated limit for Apple TV sharing is up to six people total, but that limit does not establish additional account, location, or simultaneous-stream rules here. If a particular household arrangement is important, check Apple’s current Family Sharing and service terms rather than inferring a rule from the six-person limit alone.
Do I need an Apple TV 4K?
No. Apple TV 4K is a separate streaming device, not a requirement for subscribing. Apple says you can watch in the Apple TV app on supported Apple devices, Android devices, smart TVs, streaming devices, game consoles, and Windows devices, as well as at tv.apple.com. Use Apple’s supported-device information to check a specific model; availability varies by device.
A dedicated Apple TV 4K may be an optional hardware choice for someone who wants a streaming box, but buying one is not part of the subscription requirement. If you already own a supported smart TV, phone, tablet, computer, streaming device, or game console, check whether it offers the Apple TV app before purchasing anything new. Apple’s supported-device information is the right place to verify an exact model rather than assuming that every device in a category is compatible.
There are two separate decisions: whether to subscribe to Apple TV, and whether you want an Apple streaming device. You can make the first without making the second. This is useful when comparing the true cost of getting started: include hardware only if you actually want it, not because you think it is mandatory to access Apple Originals.
Can I download Apple TV shows to watch offline?
Apple says subscribers can download Apple Originals to an Apple device for offline viewing. Apple’s service pages do not establish a universal download-retention period or guarantee that every title can be downloaded. Check the individual title and the device’s Apple TV app for download availability before relying on offline playback.
Offline viewing can be helpful when you will not have a dependable connection, but the source material does not specify a standard retention period or say that every Original is downloadable. Avoid assuming that a download will remain available indefinitely or that all content in the app can be saved. Confirm the download option for the specific title on the Apple device you plan to use, and check again before a trip or other time when streaming may not be practical.

Which Apple TV plan or offer should I choose?
Choose based on what you will actually use, rather than assuming a bundle is automatically cheaper. Compare the monthly out-of-pocket price, trial or offer eligibility, the price and billing that follow an introductory period, the other services included, your sharing needs, and the availability of the shows or sports you want in your region.
- Choose the individual subscription if you want Apple Originals and do not need the other services in a bundle. Confirm the trial offer and price at signup. At the advertised US price, it is the clearest way to compare the cost of Apple TV by itself.
- Consider Apple One if you already pay for, or expect to use, its other included Apple services. Compare the total bundle price with what you would otherwise pay; the lowest out-of-pocket price for Apple TV alone is not necessarily the best value for a household. Account for existing service charges that may continue during the first-month trial, and compare the monthly renewal price.
- Check Apple TV + Peacock if you want both services. Apple advertised savings of over 30% for its bundle choices, but also said there was no free trial, discounted offer, or annual plan at launch. Confirm current terms before deciding. Because the offer is volatile and detailed bundle plan prices are not established here, use Apple’s current page rather than a remembered price or assumed saving.
- Use an eligible offer if Apple presents a device-purchase or student-plan benefit that fits your circumstances. Pay attention to redemption deadlines and what plan begins when the offer ends. A promotional period is not the same as an ongoing free subscription.
For an apples-to-apples comparison, write down what you would pay per month after any free period, which services you would actually use, and whether the desired titles or sports are available where you live. The Apple One prices are $21.95 for Individual, $27.95 for Family, and $39.95 for Premier according to Apple’s US page accessed October 9, 2026. Those figures describe bundles, not a discount that automatically makes Apple TV cheaper for every subscriber.
Then check the practical fit: whether the shows or sports you want are available in your region, whether your device is supported, and whether sharing with up to six people through Family Sharing meets your needs. Apple’s US prices and offers can change, and sports rights are territory- and season-dependent.
How to subscribe or claim an offer
- Choose your route. Decide whether you want the individual subscription, Apple One, a displayed Apple-device offer, Apple Music Student Plan access, or the Apple TV + Peacock bundle. Compare the services included and the ongoing price, not only a free-period headline.
- Open Apple’s service page or the Apple TV app. Review the available offer for your account and region; do not assume a trial shown to another person will also appear for you. The Apple TV app is available across supported devices, and you can also use tv.apple.com.
- Check the terms before confirming. Verify the monthly price, trial length, eligibility, renewal date, and any redemption deadline. For a device offer, redeem within the advertised 90-day window if eligible. Confirm what the recurring charge will be after a trial or promotional period.
- Confirm the bundle contents and billing. With Apple One, check whether services you already subscribe to may continue to bill separately during the first month. For Apple TV + Peacock, review current bundle prices and terms, including the trial and annual-plan details Apple currently displays.
- Watch on a supported device or the web. Use the Apple TV app or visit tv.apple.com. You do not need to purchase an Apple TV 4K to begin. Check Apple’s supported-device information for your particular TV or device model.
Before you finish, make sure the offer you intended to choose is the one on the confirmation screen. Keep track of any trial end date and the monthly renewal amount shown for the account. That small check helps distinguish a free period from a permanent free entitlement and prevents confusion between the Apple TV subscription, Apple One, and individual rental or purchase charges in the app.
