If you are looking for the old Apple TV+ subscription, Apple now calls the service Apple TV. In the U.S., the standalone plan costs $12.99 per month. Apple does not currently advertise an annual standalone plan, so paying for 12 months at the regular rate would cost $155.88 before tax.

Is there an annual Apple TV plan?
Not in the current U.S. offer. Apple’s pricing page lists the standalone Apple TV subscription as a monthly plan, not as a discounted annual subscription. If you keep it for a full year, 12 payments of $12.99 come to $155.88, excluding taxes.

Apple’s subscription settings may still contain a See All Plans button. That does not mean an annual option exists. Apple only displays plans available for your Apple Account and region. To check:
- On an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro, open Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions.
- Select the Apple TV subscription.
- Tap See All Plans, if it appears.
On a Mac, use App Store > [your name] > Account Settings > Subscriptions > Manage, select Apple TV, and choose See All Plans. On Windows, open the Apple TV or Apple Music app, select your name, choose View My Account, then go to Subscriptions > Manage > Edit.

What does the $12.99 subscription include?
The standalone plan provides access to Apple’s Apple Originals, including documentaries, series, films, and other programming available through the Apple TV service. Apple says the service has no ads within Apple Originals, and one subscription can be shared with up to five other family members through Family Sharing.
It does not unlock everything visible in the Apple TV app. The app also brings together content from third-party subscription services, rentals, purchases, and individual channels. Those may require separate payment. Seeing a film or channel in the Apple TV interface does not necessarily mean it is included in the $12.99 plan.
Ways to pay less or combine services
Apple One
Apple One is the main alternative to buying Apple TV on its own. Every Apple One tier includes Apple TV, but the value depends on whether you already use the other services in the bundle.

Apple One is monthly rather than annual. The Individual tier can still use Family Sharing for Apple TV, while Family and Premier are designed to share the broader package with family members. If Apple TV is the only service you want, the $12.99 standalone plan is cheaper. Apple One becomes more plausible when you also use services such as Apple Music or the other products included in your tier.

In the U.S., Apple also offers two monthly bundles with Peacock:
- $14.99 per month: Apple TV plus Peacock Premium, with Peacock ads.
- $19.99 per month: Apple TV plus Peacock Premium Plus, which is ad-free except for limited exceptions.
These bundles do not currently have annual billing. They also cannot be purchased through third-party device partners. If you already subscribe to Apple TV or Peacock separately, check which company is billing each service before switching; otherwise, you could briefly pay twice.

Free trials and promotional access
Eligible new Apple TV subscribers may receive a seven-day free trial, after which the subscription renews at $12.99 per month unless canceled. Trial eligibility can vary by account and previous use of the service.
People who purchase an eligible new Apple device can generally redeem three months of Apple TV free. The offer must be claimed within 90 days of the device purchase. Apple Music’s Student Plan can also include Apple TV for a limited time, but that is student-plan access—not an annual Apple TV subscription.
Free access is normally tied to a redemption deadline and an Apple Account. Check the offer shown during sign-up rather than assuming a device purchase automatically activates it.

How to subscribe
From the Apple TV app or website
- Open the Apple TV app, or visit tv.apple.com.
- Open the Apple TV tab.
- Choose Sign In or Sign Up.
- Select Get Apple TV or Start Free Trial, depending on the offer shown.
- Sign in with the Apple Account you want to use for billing.
- Confirm your payment details and select Confirm.
From an Apple TV 4K
- Open the Apple TV app.
- Open the sidebar.
- Select Apple TV, MLS, or Formula 1.
- Select the subscription button and follow the onscreen instructions.
How to cancel before renewal
On an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Apple TV > Cancel Subscription. If there is no Cancel Subscription button, or the subscription displays an expiration message in red, it has already been canceled.
For a free or discounted trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends if you do not want the next charge. Canceling after renewal may not automatically produce a refund.
If Apple TV is missing from your Apple subscriptions, find the original receipt. The subscription may be attached to a different Apple Account, or another company—such as Google Play, a mobile carrier, or another platform—may be handling the billing. In that case, cancellation must be completed through that billing provider.

Check the billing account carefully before subscribing or canceling, especially if you started through a third-party platform.
