Unconditional: a mother sets out to clear her daughter
This eight-part thriller follows twentysomething Gali, arrested for drug smuggling in Moscow while traveling with her mother, Orna. Convinced her daughter is innocent, Orna begins trying to prove it, pulling the story into crime and corruption. The series comes from the team behind Homeland; the May release guide credits Adam Bizanski as writer and Johnathan Gurfinkel as director.
Choose Unconditional if you want an international-crime setup driven by a parent’s attempt to rescue her child.
Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed: a murder mystery with dark comedy
Tatiana Maslany stars as Paula, a newly divorced mother who believes she witnessed a murder. As she investigates, she is also managing a custody battle and an identity crisis; the official premise brings in youth soccer and blackmail alongside the murder mystery. Jake Johnson also stars.

Its premise makes it the clearest family-oriented choice among May’s four releases, with an aviation setting at the center of the adventure.
Star City: the space race from the Soviet side
A science-fiction spinoff of For All Mankind, Star City revisits the space-race premise from the Soviet perspective. It focuses on the cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers involved in the USSR’s effort to reach the Moon first.
