Apple said its shows and films received 81 nominations across 14 Apple Original titles for the 77th Emmy Awards, announced July 15, 2025. That was a record result for Apple, not the highest platform total: contemporaneous reporting put HBO Max at 142 nominations. Within Apple’s slate, Severance led with 27 nominations, while The Studio’s 23 tied the comedy category’s single-year record at the time.
How many Emmy nominations did Apple TV+ get in 2025?
Apple announced 81 nominations across 14 Apple Original titles for the 77th Emmy Awards on July 15, 2025. The figure is a combined Apple slate total, not the count for one show. Apple described the result as record-breaking for the service; its announcement lists nominations for Severance, The Studio, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Presumed Innocent, The Gorge, Bad Sisters, Dope Thief, Disclaimer, Pachinko, Your Friends & Neighbors, Dark Matter, Deaf President Now!, and Bono: Stories of Surrender. Apple’s announcement and title breakdown also identifies The Gorge as Apple TV+’s first Outstanding Television Movie nominee.
Apple reported 31 acting-category nominations across its titles. The totals refer to nominations announced for that year, not Emmy wins; the nomination rosters can be revised after corrections or approved appeals.
Which Apple TV+ show received the most nominations?
Severance: 27 nominations
Severance was Apple’s most-nominated title, with 27 nominations. The Television Academy also identified it as the largest drama haul of the 2025 nominations. The Academy’s 2025 nominations coverage independently confirms the show-level tally.

The Studio: 23 nominations
The Studio received 23 nominations. In 2025, that tied The Bear’s 2024 total for the most nominations in a single year for a comedy series. Apple also called it the most-nominated freshman comedy series. These are show-level comedy records, distinct from Apple’s combined 81-title slate total.
Other nominated Apple titles
Apple’s nominated slate also included drama, comedy, film, documentary, and other categories across the 14 titles listed above. The aggregate figure should not be read as an equal distribution: the cited totals establish Severance and The Studio as the leaders, but do not mean every title had the same number or type of nominations.

Did Apple TV+ have the most Emmy nominations of any platform?
No. EL PAÍS reported that HBO Max had 142 nominations in its contemporaneous platform comparison, more than Apple’s 81. EL PAÍS’s July 2025 report provides that comparison; it is secondary reporting, rather than an Academy-issued comprehensive platform tally. The numbers also describe different scopes from the show records: 81 and 142 are platform totals, while 27 and 23 are individual-series totals.
Does The Studio still hold the comedy nomination record?
Not on the latest Academy information cited here. The 23 nominations tied the single-year comedy record in 2025, when The Bear and The Studio shared it. In 2026, the Television Academy reported that Hacks set a new single-year comedy record with 24 nominations; The Studio and The Bear were the previous co-record holders. The Academy also reported The Pitt leading drama with 25 nominations that year. The Academy’s 2026 nominations coverage dates and scopes that update.

- 4K High Dynamic Range (Dolby Vision and HDR10) for stunning picture quality
- Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 surround sound
- A10X Fusion chip for ultra-fast graphics and performance
- Voice search by asking the Siri Remote
So “record-breaking” needs a qualifier: Apple’s 2025 result was a company record, and The Studio tied a category record at that time. Neither statement means Apple led all platforms, nor that the comedy record remains current.

Nominations recognize work selected by Emmy voters; they do not establish how many awards a title ultimately won. Apple executive Zack Van Amburg, head of Worldwide Video, said, “Everyone at Apple is celebrating the talent, creativity, and hard work of all of our Emmy nominees this morning,” in the company’s announcement. Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego said that more members voted in the competition than ever before, calling it “a record turnout.” Those statements describe the organizations’ response to the nominations and voting, not audience size or award outcomes.
