Anne Hathaway’s reported property history includes an Ojai-area California home identified as her current primary residence, former homes in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Connecticut, and a Manhattan apartment she rented rather than owned. The available reporting does not establish a complete legal inventory, and one additional Connecticut-area property remains unidentified.

Which homes are reported as owned by Anne Hathaway?

Architectural Digest’s July 2026 account identifies the Ojai-area home as Hathaway and husband Adam Shulman’s primary residence. The couple’s reported property timeline also includes a Brooklyn loft, a Manhattan penthouse and a Westport, Connecticut, Colonial. Transaction prices and dates below are as reported by Architectural Digest, not independently verified against property records. Architectural Digest’s property timeline also notes a possible additional Connecticut-area property without enough information to identify it or establish its current status.

Property Reported history Reported details
Ojai-area, California Purchased in 2014 for $3.6 million; identified by Architectural Digest in July 2026 as the couple’s primary residence. About 3,400 square feet, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms at purchase; the couple also bought adjacent land.
Dumbo Clocktower apartment, Brooklyn Purchased in February 2013 for $4.1 million; sold in October 2014 for $4.33 million. Two-bedroom loft. Hathaway reportedly used it as a dressing room rather than living there.
Upper West Side penthouse, Manhattan Purchased in early 2016 for $2.55 million; listed for about $3.5 million in February 2020; sold in June 2021 for just under $3.5 million. Reported as 1,200 square feet, with two bedrooms, a private terrace, skylights and 18-foot ceilings.
Westport Colonial, Connecticut Purchased in November 2017 for $2.8 million; sold about a year later for $2.7 million. Reported as a 1920s, five-bedroom, six-bathroom home spanning 4,500 square feet, on an acre with an English garden, barn, guesthouse and saltwater pool.

What is known about the Ojai-area house?

The Ojai-area property has the clearest architectural history. Architectural Digest’s 2019 feature describes it as a 1906 Swiss chalet-style home designed by Myron Hunt and Elmer Grey. The house was destroyed by fire in 1917 and rebuilt. In the feature, Shulman recalled, “The minute we came up the driveway and saw this incredible panoramic view unfold in front of us, we were hooked.” Hathaway described the home as “the ideal combination of romance and great design” and said she could see raising a family there.

Which Anne Hathaway residence was rented, not owned?

In the mid-2000s, Hathaway and then-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri reportedly rented a five-bedroom duplex at Olympic Tower in Midtown Manhattan. It belongs in a residence timeline, but not in a list of homes she owned: the account identifies it as a rental.

Is this a complete list of her houses?

No public account cited here establishes an exhaustive legal inventory. Architectural Digest says another Connecticut-area home was reportedly still owned at the time of its account, but does not provide enough detail to identify it or say whether it remains owned. The listed purchases and sales are media reports, not a title-record audit.

A separate interior discussed in June 2026 social-media coverage should not be added as a confirmed Hathaway home. Homes & Gardens explicitly said it could not confirm that the space belonged to her.
