It was not the group’s first reunion activity: Andrew McMahon, Josh Partington, Kevin “Clutch” Page, Brian Ireland and William Tell had already reunited for performances in 2023. The distinction is between those earlier festival and headline appearances and the later named tour.
What Andrew McMahon said about the 2024 tour
The Stone Pony’s event listing for the 2024 Out of Office date carried a statement attributed to McMahon: “The band and I couldn’t be more excited for these upcoming dates,” shares front man Andrew McMahon. “We’re having more fun together than ever and the generosity of the fans, both online and at last year’s shows, made it impossible not to come back and do a few more. We hope to see you there!”
The remark connects the tour to the reception the band received at its 2023 performances. It is a statement published with the 2024 event announcement, not a detailed explanation of the band’s history or a transcript of an interview.
Why “first tour in 20 years” needs context
The phrase refers to the return of Something Corporate’s original five-member lineup for a tour, not to the first time the members had played together since the band’s hiatus. The group formed in 1998 and went on hiatus in 2005. Select reunion dates followed in 2010, and the original members performed together again in 2023.

Alternative Press described its McMahon interview as covering his career, the band’s legacy and the live reunion. Its searchable page places the conversation around McMahon’s 40th-birthday celebration, but the interview page itself was not available for review. No further remarks from that conversation can be established here.
Who was in Something Corporate’s original lineup?
- Andrew McMahon: vocals and piano
- Josh Partington: guitar

- Brian Ireland: drums
- William Tell: guitar
The Stone Pony’s history says the band formed in 1998, released Leaving Through The Window in 2002 and North in 2003, then went on hiatus in 2005. The venue lists more than 1 million records sold cumulatively, but gives no year for that estimate.

Where the 2024 tour fit in the band’s story
The reunion brought the original lineup back to the stage after years in which Something Corporate was not an ongoing touring band. The 2023 shows established that the members were performing together again; the Out of Office dates extended that return into a tour. The Stone Pony listing also said that one dollar per ticket for its Asbury Park event would go to the Dear Jack Foundation. That donation detail applies to the listed event, not necessarily every date on the tour.
The tour is now historical, rather than a current run of shows. The available event information establishes the 2024 dates and the band’s stated enthusiasm for them, but does not establish any later tour plans.
