Release date and why season 3 is the ending
And Just Like That… season 3 premiered in the United States on May 29, 2025. Max released the 12 episodes weekly on Thursdays, concluding with “Party of One” on August 14, 2025.
Season 3 is not an upcoming season. It is the completed final season of the Sex and the City television universe. On August 1, 2025, showrunner Michael Patrick King announced that the ongoing story would end with season 3. The season had originally been ordered for 10 episodes, but the order was expanded to 12 so the story could conclude with a two-part finale.

- Designed for concrete, brick and wood studs wall (single stud).
- Designed for TVs up to 80 lbs (36.3 KG) and display sized 26" - 55" (66 CM - 140 CM).

The timing matters when interpreting the ending. Contemporary reporting indicated that the decision to stop the series was made while the final episode was being written, rather than being planned from the beginning as a conventional grand finale. That helps explain why the conclusion offers several character-resolution scenes without tying every storyline into a single, definitive franchise-ending event.
Where to watch season 3
In the United States, the latest cited availability check listed all 12 episodes on Max, through the HBO Max Amazon Channel, and via YouTube TV. Streaming catalogs, channel names, prices, and subscription requirements can change, so viewers should check the current listing in their territory before subscribing. For readers looking to watch And Just Like That… season 3, Max remains the primary service associated with the series, but availability outside the U.S. may differ.
An Amazon Prime Video page also surfaced the season-three title and related behind-the-look material, but an indexed product page is not enough to establish universal U.S. access. Treat any Prime Video or channel listing as region-specific until the live listing confirms that the episodes can be played in your location.
There is no confirmed season-three DVD or Blu-ray release established by the available evidence. The physical products documented for the franchise are older Sex and the City releases, not a confirmed home-video edition of And Just Like That… season 3.

Spoilers: what happens in the finale?
Warning: the rest of this section reveals the ending of season 3 and the series.
Carrie chooses a period of solitude
Carrie’s season begins with the strain of being in a long-distance relationship with Aidan and later develops a creative and romantic connection with Duncan. By the penultimate episode, however, the central question is no longer simply which man Carrie will choose. She is also deciding how to finish her book and how honestly to frame her own life.
In “Party of One,” Carrie attends a bridal fashion show before moving toward an acceptance of her next phase. The Thanksgiving gathering becomes increasingly dysfunctional, but Carrie later delivers pies to her friends and returns home alone. She does not end the series paired with Aidan or Duncan, and the finale does not introduce a replacement romance as a last-minute answer.
The final beat treats being alone as a conscious and potentially fulfilling phase rather than as proof that Carrie has failed. It also leaves her open to the future. The ending is therefore less a declaration that Carrie will always be single than a refusal to make romantic coupling the only acceptable form of closure.
Miranda and Joy stay together
Miranda’s season revolves around her tentative relationship with Joy, while family complications involving Brady and Steve continue in the background. The Thanksgiving crisis initially appears to confirm Miranda’s fear that Joy is avoiding her because of conflict.

Miranda then learns that Joy’s dog needs emergency surgery. She leaves to support Joy, the operation succeeds, and Miranda and Joy end the finale together. Of the season’s major romantic threads, theirs receives the clearest forward-looking conclusion.
Charlotte and Harry reconnect
Charlotte continues balancing motherhood, her gallery work, and her sense of identity outside the family. Harry’s health and post-surgery difficulties become an important part of their domestic storyline.
In the finale, Harry’s sexual-health problem resolves, giving the couple a small but meaningful opportunity to reconnect physically. It is not a dramatic reinvention of their marriage; it is a reminder that a long relationship can move through awkward, unglamorous problems and still recover intimacy.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Lisa finds perspective rather than a breakup
Lisa’s story remains focused on her documentary, editorial judgment, professional pressure, and the demands of family life. Her concern about whether a male editor undermines a female-centered project reflects the wider conflict between creative principles and the practical decisions required to complete a work.
The finale does not give Lisa a major romantic rupture or a new relationship. Instead, her marriage gives her a renewed perspective on enduring its highs and lows while she manages the competing demands of work and home.
Seema embraces compromise with Adam
Seema’s storyline begins with matchmaking and develops into a relationship with Adam. She encounters a possible dealbreaker and has to decide whether a relationship can survive the compromises and surprises that accompany real compatibility.

The finale’s closing montage gives Seema a relationship-forward resolution: she signals that she has embraced Adam and the compromises involved. The show does not turn that beat into a formal wedding or a fully specified long-term future, but it does move Seema away from the idea that independence requires rejecting every difficult part of intimacy.

Anthony’s relationship with Giuseppe is tested by family introductions and questions about marriage. After Anthony meets Giuseppe’s mother and encounters his eccentric roommate, the finale gives the pair a comic and affectionate resolution.
They do not receive a formal wedding or a comprehensive answer about their future. Their ending is intentionally smaller: the relationship survives the social and family complications that have tested it.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the ending means
The finale returns to a question that has been part of the franchise from the beginning: is romantic fulfillment the only valid form of a happy ending?
Miranda and Joy continue as a couple, Charlotte and Harry reaffirm their marriage, Seema accepts the complications of her relationship with Adam, and Anthony and Giuseppe remain together. Carrie, the franchise’s central narrator, receives a different kind of closure. She ends up alone, but the show frames that solitude as self-possession rather than abandonment.
That choice also connects to Carrie’s long-running relationship with writing. Her decision about how to finish her book becomes a decision about how to interpret her own life. Instead of turning the conclusion into another contest between romantic options, the finale lets Carrie own the story and the space she occupies after the season’s relationships, losses, and changes.

Critical reaction was divided. Some reviews considered the finale rushed, tonally uneven, or not conclusive enough for the end of the universe. Others saw Carrie’s single ending as thematically appropriate. Those are matters of interpretation rather than disputed plot facts: the episode does end with Carrie alone, while the other principal characters receive varying degrees of relationship and family closure.
How season 3 fits into the franchise
And Just Like That… follows Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they navigate friendship, sex, love, work, family, and aging in their 50s in New York City. Seema and Lisa expand the central friendship circle and give the sequel a broader view of midlife than the original series could provide.
The franchise began with Sex and the City, the HBO series created by Darren Star and based on Candace Bushnell’s 1996 book. The book is a nonfiction-inspired collection rooted in Bushnell’s New York writing, while the television characters and the later sequel develop their own fictional histories. Readers interested in the source material can look for Candace Bushnell’s Sex and the City book, but it should be treated as the literary starting point—not as a novelization of season 3.
