Why the season matters
American Idol has had more than one Top 14 reveal, and the decision-makers were not the same each time. In the 2022 episode, the judges chose four contestants after ten advanced by audience vote. In the Season 24 reveal on March 30, 2026, viewers determined the Top 14 by voting; the judges did not make those selections. TV Insider’s recap lists Ruby Rae, Madison Moon, Makiyah, Abayomi, Kutter Bradley, and Genevieve Heyward as eliminated before the live shows. Read TV Insider’s Season 24 recap.
