Amazon Prime Gaming’s Lord of the Rings game promotion was a September 2024 offer, not a new release announcement. It named four games: three delivered as GOG codes and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, which Prime members could play through Amazon Luna in supported countries. Amazon’s October 2026 Luna lineup does not list a Lord of the Rings game.
Which Lord of the Rings games did Prime Gaming offer?
Amazon announced the promotion on August 27, 2024, in connection with the second-season premiere of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The announcement named three games; Amazon’s September content update added a fourth title, LEGO The Hobbit, available from September 19. Together, the two updates listed these four games:
- Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition
- LEGO The Lord of the Rings
- LEGO The Hobbit
- Middle-earth: Shadow of War
Amazon’s August 27 announcement and its September content update describe different ways to access the games, so the four titles should not be treated as four permanent downloads.
How were the games accessed?

Amazon currently describes Luna as offering Prime members a rotating selection of games, which is a different access model from redeeming a code at another storefront. Amazon’s current Games page also provides a separate route for shopping for video games and accessories; that does not establish that any particular title is currently in stock.

Was the promotion available everywhere?
No. Amazon warned that Prime Gaming offers could vary by region and specifically said Shadow of Mordor was unavailable in Japan and South Korea. For Shadow of War, Amazon identified supported countries for Luna rather than presenting the offer as globally available. The announcement does not support treating either title’s access as universal.
Can you still claim these games through Prime Gaming?
Do not treat the 2024 promotion as a current claim offer. Amazon’s October 6, 2026 Luna content update lists that month’s Prime games and does not include a Lord of the Rings title. That establishes what is absent from the reviewed October lineup; it does not determine whether a code claimed in 2024 remains redeemable or whether a separately sold copy is available now.

For current Prime offers in general, Amazon’s guide says to sign in with Prime credentials, browse the available offers, select Claim, and follow the offer’s instructions. Depending on the game, redemption may involve an outside storefront, a linked launcher account, or the Amazon Games app. Those general steps are not a guarantee that a current offer—or the exact 2024 GOG claim flow—is still available.

A separately purchased copy is a different route from Prime code redemption or rotating Luna access. Amazon’s Games page has a general shopping route, but current stock, platform, format, condition, and seller for these specific games have not been established here. Check a live listing before relying on any of those details.
