Beyoncé’s documented philanthropy reaches beyond music through BeyGOOD, the public charity foundation she founded. Its work has included scholarships, small-business grants, emergency relief and a safe-water partnership in Burundi. The programs show concrete commitments and reported activity; they should not be mistaken for a single, independently measured account of long-term impact.
How Beyoncé’s philanthropy is organized
BeyGOOD identifies education, entrepreneurship and community response as central areas of its work. The foundation’s mission describes a focus on opportunity and thriving communities; its about page identifies it as a public charity founded by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. Many initiatives are delivered with partner organizations, so it is most accurate to describe them as work Beyoncé supported through BeyGOOD and its partners rather than as programs she personally operated alone.
Scholarships that support students
BeyGOOD’s history lists several scholarship initiatives: Homecoming Scholars, following Beyoncé’s Coachella performance; OTRII Scholars, with the Shawn Carter Foundation; and RENAISSANCE Scholars, connected to the tour route. These programs directed support toward students, though the cited descriptions do not establish long-term graduation or career outcomes.
ABOUT LOVE Scholarship Program
Tiffany & Co. announced a $2 million ABOUT LOVE Scholarship Program with Beyoncé and JAY-Z for students pursuing arts and creative fields at five historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). The cited announcement does not establish its publication year, and its stated funding should be understood as a program commitment, not evidence by itself of later outcomes. Grants and support for small businesses
BeyGOOD’s Black Parade Route Small Business Impact Fund addressed business opportunity. In its official history, BeyGOOD reports that the 2023 fund awarded $1 million in relief grants to more than 100 small businesses across 10 global markets. These are the foundation’s reported program figures, not an independent assessment of the businesses’ subsequent performance.
A related initiative connected BeyGOOD with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). NMSDC says the partners identified 800 Black businesses across seven U.S. regions and the U.K. for Black Parade Route luncheons, with $100,000 in grants awarded at each luncheon. The announcement excerpt does not establish its year. The counts and awards are NMSDC’s account of the partnership; they should not be combined with the separate fund figures as if they measured the same activity. NMSDC’s partner announcement.

Emergency relief and basic needs
BeyGOOD’s history describes hurricane-relief efforts and assistance in Texas during Winter Storm Uri, including water and meal distribution. This is community response in practical form: meeting immediate needs during crises rather than only making longer-term investments. The cited account establishes that these efforts were reported, but does not give a comprehensive total for people served or a common evaluation of their effects. BeyGOOD’s historical account provides its description of the work.
A safe-water partnership in Burundi
On June 30, 2017, UNICEF announced a multi-year BEYGOOD4BURUNDI partnership intended to help provide safe water to vulnerable children in remote areas of Burundi. UNICEF’s announcement establishes the partnership and its stated purpose; it does not, on its own, establish whether the program is still operating or quantify lasting changes in water access. What the record shows—and what it does not
Together, these examples document scholarship initiatives, business grants, crisis response and an international water-access partnership. The figures come from BeyGOOD or named partners and describe different kinds of activity: a reported award, a program commitment, businesses identified, or a partnership launched. They are not directly comparable and should not be added into a single giving total.
The cited materials are foundation and partner accounts, not a comprehensive independent evaluation. They do not establish Beyoncé’s lifetime philanthropic total or provide consistent evidence about long-term outcomes across programs. That distinction does not erase the documented work; it clarifies what the announcements and organizational histories can reliably tell readers.
