What kind of show was it?
Opening Night Live was one distinct broadcast, not a label for every Gamescom stream or show-floor event later in the week. Its program mixed new titles with sequels, trailers, DLC, expansions, collaborations, updates and television news. Release dates and platform plans were specific to each announcement; the dates above are those reported at the time of the August 2025 broadcast.
For historical context, GAME, The German Games Industry Association, reported around 44 million online views for Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2024 in its 2025 annual report. That figure is for the 2024 broadcast, not the 2025 show. GAME’s 2025 annual report.
