Meghan Markle has worn five pieces identified in fashion coverage as jewelry from Princess Diana’s collection: an Asprey aquamarine ring, a Cartier diamond tennis bracelet, Diana’s gold Cartier Tank Française watch, butterfly earrings and a gold cuff set with blue gemstones. Meghan’s engagement ring is a separate case: Prince Harry said its two side diamonds came from his mother’s collection, while its center stone came from Botswana.
The five pieces Meghan has worn
British Vogue groups five intact pieces from Diana’s collection that Meghan has worn. These identifications come from fashion reporting; the available sources do not provide a complete legal inventory or establish the transfer history of every item.
Asprey aquamarine ring
Diana commissioned the aquamarine ring from Asprey in 1996, using a gemstone gifted to her by her friend Lucia Flecha de Lima, according to British Vogue. Meghan wore it at her wedding reception at Frogmore House in May 2018, after the wedding ceremony; Elle also identifies it as Diana’s ring. Meghan later wore it in Tonga and at the Ripple of Hope Gala, Vogue reports.
Cartier diamond tennis bracelet
Diana wore the Cartier diamond tennis bracelet on multiple occasions, including the 1997 American Red Cross Gala, according to Vogue. Meghan first wore it publicly at a state dinner in Fiji in 2018, the publication reports.

Cartier Tank Française watch
The watch reported as Diana’s is an all-gold Cartier Tank Française. After passing to Prince Harry, it was later worn by Meghan; Vogue says she was first seen wearing it at a Fortune summit in 2020.
It is not the same watch as Meghan’s own two-tone Tank Française, which she bought before meeting Harry. Vogue and Elle distinguish the watch Meghan owned from Diana’s gold model.

Butterfly earrings
Vogue describes Diana’s earrings as gold, with diamonds at the top and deep-blue gemstones below. Diana wore them during a visit to British Columbia in 1986, and Meghan wore them during the 2018 Australia tour, according to Vogue. Elle also identifies them as Diana’s, dating Diana’s appearance in them to a Canada tour.

The matching gold cuff has two deep-blue gemstones, Vogue reports. Meghan wore it during the 2018 Australia tour and at later public appearances; Elle also documents it on her during that tour.

What came from Diana for Meghan’s engagement ring
Harry addressed the ring’s origins in the couple’s November 2017 engagement interview. He said: “The main stone itself I sourced from Botswana, and the little diamonds either side are from my mother’s jewelry collection to make sure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together.” The interview transcript is available at BBC News.
That statement establishes that two side diamonds came from Diana’s collection. It does not mean the entire engagement ring was inherited: Harry said he sourced its center stone from Botswana. Meghan called the inclusion of her mother-in-law’s diamonds “incredibly special” in the same interview.

What is known about Diana’s jewelry wishes
Canadian Jeweller Magazine reproduces a passage it attributes to Diana’s letter of wishes: “I would like you to allocate all my jewellery to the share to be held by my sons, so that their wives may, in due course, have it or use it. I leave the exact division of the jewellery to your discretion.” That passage offers context for why Diana’s jewelry might be worn by her sons’ wives, but it is a secondary reproduction, not the original letter, and does not prove the legal transfer of any particular piece. Canadian Jeweller Magazine attributes the wording to the letter.
The reported five pieces and Harry’s account of the engagement-ring diamonds answer which items Meghan has worn from Diana’s collection. They should not be read as a complete accounting of Diana’s jewelry or a verified record of every item’s chain of custody.
