Jesse Palmer is a former University of Florida and NFL quarterback who became a sports broadcaster and television host. He first appeared on The Bachelor as its lead in 2004; ABC announced in September 2021 that he would return to the franchise as host, beginning with the 2022 season.

Palmer played quarterback at the University of Florida. ABC’s biography credits him with 3,755 passing yards and 31 touchdown passes there; the page does not specify a year for those figures. It also records his time with the New York Giants. ABC’s biography describes him as having played five NFL seasons.
How he moved into sports broadcasting

His first Bachelor role: the season-five lead
In 2004, Palmer was the lead on the fifth season of The Bachelor. That experience later gave him a perspective few hosts can claim: he had previously been the person making decisions and navigating the show’s dating process himself.

ABC announced Palmer as host on September 28, 2021, for the upcoming season, which became season 26 and aired in early 2022. The announcement was about his appointment, not the season’s premiere. His other television hosting work
Palmer’s hosting work also extends beyond dating shows. ABC Press lists him as a host of Food Network’s Spring Baking Championship, Summer Baking Championship and Holiday Baking Championship.
ABC Press also says Palmer launched the J.Palmer clothing line with Fanatics in fall 2024. That announcement establishes the launch, but does not confirm what products are currently available.
