In a Vogue conversation published April 7, 2026, Wintour recalled that Charlie worked in COVID wards and had to deliver tragic news to families. Her account offers a personal glimpse of his work during that period, rather than a complete account of his current medical role.

What does Bee Shaffer do?
Bee, whose birth name is Katherine Shaffer, has worked in entertainment production. Corriere della Sera reported that she graduated from Columbia and worked as a producer on Late Night with Seth Meyers from 2014 to 2017. Us Weekly also identifies her as a producer with Ambassador Theatre Group.
Corriere’s 2025 profile characterizes Bee as distant from fashion. It also recounts a comment she made to Teen Vogue in 2014 about not being interested in being on fashion’s cutting edge. That description is Corriere’s report, not a claim that her mother’s career shaped Bee’s choices.

Who are their spouses and children?
Charles and Elizabeth Cordry
Charles married Elizabeth Cordry in 2014. Us Weekly reports that they have two daughters, Caroline and Ella.
Bee and Francesco Carrozzini
Bee married filmmaker Francesco Carrozzini in 2018. They have a son, Oliver, born in 2021, according to the family reporting by Us Weekly and Corriere della Sera.

What has Anna Wintour said about motherhood and family?
In Vogue’s April 7, 2026 conversation with Meryl Streep, moderated by Greta Gerwig, Wintour spoke about making time for family alongside demanding work. “Being a mother when you have the jobs that we have—you have to make the time,” she said.
She also described the value she wants to pass on to younger generations: “I try to instill in my children and my grandchildren that it’s family that counts and family who will give you love and support.” In the same interview, Wintour said she has four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. The step-grandchildren are not individually identified in the sources cited here.
