Alien: Earth was officially renewed for Season 2 in November 2025, and Disney said production was underway in London by July 10, 2026. That is a significant change from the days after the Season 1 finale, when Noah Hawley had discussed continuing the story but no renewal had been announced. Disney’s production update also named three new cast additions, but gave no premiere date.
Why the post-finale update was surprising
In the immediate aftermath of the Season 1 finale, the series had not been officially renewed. A September 23, 2025, TheWrap interview with creator Noah Hawley covered the finale and the possibility of continuing the story. The next day, Forbes published an article under this title, reporting on Hawley’s comments and outlook at a point when a Season 2 renewal was still pending.
Those comments were not the same thing as an official order. FX and Disney confirmed the renewal in November 2025, turning the possibility of a continuation into a second season.
