The FX science-fiction horror series follows the fallout after the Weyland-Yutani research ship USCSS Maginot crashes into Prodigy City, bringing Wendy’s family ties into conflict with her new role among the Lost Boys.
What is Alien: Earth about?
Set in 2120, the series begins when the deep-space exploration ship USCSS Maginot crashes into Prodigy City. As different parties move to recover what the vessel carried, Wendy and tactical soldiers confront the danger it has brought to Earth. The story’s central personal conflict is Wendy’s: she returns to the orbit of her former family while taking on a new responsibility among Prodigy Corporation’s hybrid group.
FX created the series for television with Noah Hawley, who also serves as an executive producer. FX Productions produces it. ABC’s series overview also credits Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Joseph Iberti, Dana Gonzales, and Clayton Krueger as executive producers.
Who plays Wendy, Hermit, and Kirsh?
| Actor | Character | Role in the story |
|---|---|---|
| Sydney Chandler | Wendy | Prodigy’s first synthetic infused with human consciousness; she is caught between her former family and her new place among the Lost Boys. |
| Alex Lawther | Hermit | Wendy’s brother, a tactical officer and medic whose defining motive is protecting her. |
| Timothy Olyphant | Kirsh | A synthetic responsible for training Prodigy’s first hybrids. |
Wendy — Sydney Chandler
Wendy is not simply an android: her human consciousness is central to her identity. FX describes her as “the first synthetic to be infused with human consciousness by the Prodigy Corporation.” Her hybrid existence puts her between the family she had before and the Lost Boys she is now expected to lead and protect. FX’s character guide identifies Chandler as Wendy.

- Alien Terror
Hermit — Alex Lawther
Hermit is Wendy’s brother and serves as both a tactical officer and a medic. His family connection gives his role a personal focus: he is prepared to risk everything to protect Wendy. The official D23 guide to the series likewise presents family as the reason behind his actions.
Kirsh — Timothy Olyphant
Kirsh is a synthetic assigned to train the first hybrids. That position puts him close to Prodigy’s new group, including Wendy, but the official character description does not establish more backstory than his training role.

Who are the Lost Boys?
The Lost Boys are the hybrids created by Prodigy. Wendy is part of the group, alongside five other named members. Their individual traits give the ensemble different perspectives on life as a hybrid:
| Actor | Character | Character detail |
|---|---|---|
| Adarsh Gourav | Slightly | Tries to act righteously when facing moral dilemmas. |
| Jonathan Ajayi | Smee | Has an eager, childlike manner. |
| Erana James | Curly | Feels grateful to Prodigy for a second chance and wants to prove herself. |
| Lily Newmark | Nibs | Was very sick as a human and finds the adjustment to hybrid life difficult. |
| Kit Young | Tootles | The oldest in human age, he serves as an unofficial big brother. |
These character descriptions come from the D23 guide; FX also identifies the group as Prodigy’s hybrids on its character page.
