Alchemy Saunas is listed as operating beneath Clancy’s Fish Bar at 195 Challenger Parade, City Beach. The venue offers one-hour sauna sessions with an ocean dip; Alchemy currently lists drop-ins at $20 and a $30 unlimited membership. Those are operator-listed details checked on 8 October 2026 and may change.
From council proposal to listed City Beach venue
In April 2024, Alchemy Saunas proposed using a vacant kiosk area beneath Clancy’s beachfront restaurant. PerthNow reported on 18 April that the proposal was awaiting a council decision. On 23 April, Town of Cambridge councillors supported a lease change to allow the sauna, according to PerthNow’s 25 April report.
The operator’s current City Beach listing places the venue at 195 Challenger Parade and offers bookable sessions. This confirms that Alchemy lists the site as operating; it does not establish the exact date the venue first opened. PerthNow’s 18 April 2024 proposal-stage report and its 25 April 2024 report on council support document the decision and its local context.

PerthNow reported that councillors supported the lease change on 23 April 2024. Councillor Kate Barlow said, “I’m very supportive for this sauna coming here,” while Councillor Ben Mayes said the idea could take off given the rising popularity of sauna and ice-bath treatments. Mayes also described the basement as “very underutilised.” These were councillors’ views reported at the time, not evidence of health effects or a measure of current demand.
