Her impression of the venue began less positively outside: she said the exterior looked good but felt empty during that mid-week visit. She had been told weekends were busy, which was not something she observed firsthand. As she put it, “Once we’d crossed the threshold of Alba — a modern Italian offering — it was another story.”
Which dishes stood out in the review?
The review’s strongest food praise went to two pasta dishes. Jurewicz described the vodka rigatoni as having a chilli kick, a thick tomato-and-cream sauce and parmesan. The carbonara was a special she called traditional, salty and creamy, with no cream in sight.
