Alan Ritchson called Reacher Season 4 “by far the best season we’ve had yet.” That is the star’s own assessment, reported from an interview with Collider while he was discussing War Machine—not an established consensus among viewers or critics.
What did Alan Ritchson say about Season 4?
In a March 10, 2026 report, ComicBook.com quoted Ritchson as saying: “Well, we finished shooting Season 4 of Reacher. It’s by far the best season we’ve had yet, so it’s coming. It’ll be out this year.” The report attributes the remarks to an interview with Collider.
His comment communicates confidence in the season; it does not establish how audiences or critics will rank it. The report also captured the timing of his remarks: filming had wrapped, and he expected the season that year.

Prime Video announced an August 12, 2026 premiere, with the first three episodes released together and subsequent episodes arriving weekly. What is Season 4 about?
The season adapts Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow, the 13th novel in the Reacher book series, according to Paramount’s official series page. Its synopsis begins with a chance encounter on a subway: a distraught stranger draws Jack Reacher into a deadly game involving powerful adversaries.
Ritchson returns as Reacher. The listed cast also includes Sydelle Noel, Chris Marquette, AGNEZ MO, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan and Kathleen Robertson. Viewers interested in the story’s source can read Gone Tomorrow; that is the novel adapted, not necessarily a special tie-in edition.

These are Prime Video-reported figures; the announcement does not describe a measurement methodology or present them as independently audited.
Prime Video further said all returning seasons of Reacher ranked among its three most-viewed returning seasons, while Season 4 ranked among its five most-viewed original seasons on the service. No. The audience figures and platform rankings indicate how Prime Video describes the show’s performance; they do not verify Ritchson’s quality judgment. “Best season yet” remains his promotional opinion. The available evidence establishes what he said, what the season adapts and how Prime Video reported its viewership—not an objective ranking against earlier seasons.
