The available reporting also supports sitcom connections for John Amos, John Aprea and Martin Mull. These are confirmed examples, not a verified list of ten: the sources cited here do not establish a definitive roster, so this article does not present one as complete.
Actors whose sitcom connections are documented
The roles below differ in prominence. Perry was a lead across all ten seasons of Friends; Aprea had a recurring part on Full House; and Amos and Mull appeared as guest performers. Stating that distinction helps avoid suggesting that every actor had the same place in a show’s cast.

Matthew Perry — Chandler Bing on Friends
Perry played Chandler Bing throughout all ten seasons of Friends, which ran from 1994 to 2004, according to the Associated Press. In his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, Perry reflected on the overlap between himself and the character, writing, “I ‘was’ Chandler.” The AP reported that line in its account of his memoir.
Peter Crombie — “Crazy” Joe Davola on Seinfeld
Crombie played “Crazy” Joe Davola, a character who appeared in Seinfeld’s fourth season. The Los Angeles Times reported that Crombie died at 71; his ex-wife announced his death in January 2024. The illness was not disclosed, so no cause of death is established in that report. The Times also recalled a 1997 remark in which Crombie said people recognized him as Joe Davola when the show aired.

Hiram Kasten — Michael on Seinfeld
Kasten played Michael, Elaine Benes’s coworker, on Seinfeld. The Los Angeles Times also noted his sitcom appearances in Mad About You, Everybody Loves Raymond, Saved by the Bell and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The obituary reported that Kasten died at 71 in June 2024 after prostate cancer and Crohn’s disease; those health details are attributed to that reporting.
John Amos — Fred Wilkes on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Amos appeared as Fred Wilkes in three episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, according to SitcomsOnline’s 2024 retrospective. This was a guest role, not a regular-cast position.

John Aprea — Nick Katsopolis on Full House
Aprea had a recurring role as Nick Katsopolis in seven episodes of the original Full House, the same SitcomsOnline retrospective reports.
Martin Mull — guest star on Roseanne
The Associated Press identified Mull as a guest star on Roseanne in its 2024 year-in-review of notable deaths.

Why this is not a definitive list of ten
The supported examples establish that these actors had connections to popular sitcoms that aired in the 1990s, but they do not verify a complete ten-person roster. The cited sources vary in depth: the Los Angeles Times obituaries provide role and death details for Crombie and Kasten, while the AP retrospective and SitcomsOnline roundup identify other sitcom connections without uniform biographical detail for every possible entry. A list of ten would require a defined inclusion rule—such as whether guest performers qualify—and sourced confirmation for the remaining names.
One further example is Shannen Doherty, whom the AP’s 2024 year-in-review identified as a star of Beverly Hills, 90210. That identification supports her connection to the series, but the cited retrospective alone does not provide the role dates and death details needed for a fuller entry here.
