For direct Max signup, use Max’s official product page. If you subscribe through another provider, billing and account management may be handled there.
Which viewing option makes sense?
- Already have Max: Watch it there without paying a separate per-film charge, subject to the title remaining in the catalog.
- Want to watch once: Compare the current rental price with a month of Max. A rental is often the simpler one-time choice, but the live checkout price determines which costs less.
- Expect to rewatch it: A digital purchase avoids a recurring subscription, but access remains subject to the retailer’s platform and licensing terms.
- Want the Max catalog too: A subscription may make more sense than buying one title.
Amazon’s listing surfaced a UHD rental for $3.99 and UHD purchase for $14.99, but those prices may vary by region, edition, promotion, and storefront. Confirm the U.S. listing and final checkout amount before paying: Prime Video listing. The Apple listing confirms the title but does not establish a current rental or purchase price: Apple TV listing. Fandango at Home is also listed by JustWatch; check its storefront for the current price and edition.

Max plans and prices
Max’s U.S. help page lists the following plan prices. Prices are volatile; confirm the current offer, taxes, and billing terms on the signup page before subscribing.
| Plan | Monthly price | Annual price | Features listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic with Ads | $9.99 | $99.99 | Full HD; two simultaneous streams |
| Standard | $16.99 | $169.99 | Full HD; two simultaneous streams; up to 30 downloads |
| Premium | $20.99 | $209.99 | 4K Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos where available; four simultaneous streams; up to 100 downloads |
These plan details come from Max’s U.S. plan information. Basic with Ads is the lowest-priced listed plan, but includes advertising. 4K and Dolby Atmos depend on the title, plan, device, and connection; a 4K television alone does not guarantee 4K playback.

Is it free to stream?
Max is a paid subscription service, so access through Max is not inherently free. A qualifying provider or bundle may already include access for some customers, but that depends on the account. JustWatch’s cited U.S. check did not list a free streaming option. Rental or purchase is another paid route if you do not want a subscription.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is it on Netflix, Disney+, or Hulu?
The cited U.S. availability listing identifies Max as the subscription streamer and Amazon Video, Apple TV Store, and Fandango at Home for rental or purchase. It does not establish that the film is included with a U.S. Netflix, Disney+, or Hulu subscription. A Hulu title page exists, but a catalog page alone does not confirm subscription access. Check the service’s live U.S. catalog before subscribing solely for this movie.

Does it have an ASL version?
Yes. Warner Bros. Discovery announced an American Sign Language version for the film’s Max streaming debut on June 20, 2025: Warner Bros. Discovery announcement. Amazon also surfaces a separate A Minecraft Movie (with ASL) listing: Prime Video ASL listing. This is a distinct ASL-interpreted version, not simply English closed captions; availability can depend on platform and region.
What is the movie about?
Four misfits are pulled through a mysterious portal into Minecraft’s Overworld. There, they must navigate the cubic world and complete a quest with Steve, an expert crafter, while trying to find their way home. The film stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Sebastian Hansen, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Jennifer Coolidge. It is a 2025 Warner Bros. film.
Rating and runtime
The U.S. rating is PG for action/violence, language, suggestive or rude humor, and some scary images. Platform metadata differs on runtime: Apple lists 1 hour 41 minutes, while the surfaced Prime Video listing gives 1 hour 37 minutes. Check the specific edition’s listing rather than treating either figure as a definitive runtime.
