The season adapts George R. R. Martin’s novella The Sworn Sword.
Who plays Lady Rohanne, Ser Bennis and Ser Eustace?
Max’s March 4, 2026, season 2 cast announcement names three additions and their roles:
- Lucy Boynton as Lady Rohanne
- Babou Ceesay as Ser Bennis
- Peter Mullan as Ser Eustace Osgrey
The same official cast list names Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg. The announcement confirms these role pairings, but it does not establish that the full season 2 cast has been revealed.
What story will season 2 adapt?
Season 2 adapts The Sworn Sword, the second novella in Martin’s Dunk and Egg sequence. Showrunner Ira Parker told the Los Angeles Times that the story unfolds roughly a year and a half after The Hedge Knight, in a part of the Reach. For readers who want the source story, read The Sworn Sword; the link is to a specific edition, and its availability may change.

How the newly cast characters fit the story
Max’s release provides the actors’ names and roles, not detailed character biographies. Entertainment coverage offers additional context: SYFY Wire identifies Rohanne by her nickname, the Red Widow, and describes Bennis as a fellow hedge knight Dunk encounters again. It also reports that Dunk and Egg serve Ser Eustace Osgrey.
Parker told the Los Angeles Times that he likes the novella’s humor and sees the “will they / won’t they” dynamic between Dunk and Lady Rohanne as promising story material. That is his description of the adaptation’s direction, rather than additional detail from Max’s casting notice.
