Discovery (WBD) and reported by TheWrap on February 26, 2026. That was a series high and 42% above the premiere’s three-day audience.
How many viewers watched the finale?
The finale reached 9.5 million viewers in the United States during its first three days of availability. TheWrap attributed the figure to Nielsen and WBD. It is a three-day U.S. total—not a same-day count or a worldwide finale audience.
How the finale compared with earlier episodes
TheWrap reported these first-three-day audience figures for the season’s finale, fifth episode, and premiere:
| Episode | Reported audience | Measurement window |
|---|---|---|
| Season-one finale | 9.5 million U.S. viewers | First three days of availability |
| Episode five | 9.2 million U.S. viewers | First three days of availability |
| Premiere | 6.7 million viewers across HBO and HBO Max | First three days of availability |
On that shared three-day basis, the finale exceeded episode five’s reported total and was 42% above the premiere. The cited report does not provide a complete episode-by-episode table, so these figures should not be used to infer exact totals for the other episodes.

What the 9.5 million figure counts—and what it does not
The number refers to U.S. viewers over the finale’s first three days, as reported by TheWrap from figures attributed to Nielsen and WBD. The report does not give a separate count for HBO’s linear channel and streaming, a demographic breakdown, or detailed calculation methodology. It also does not establish an all-time ranking against other shows in the franchise.
Measurement windows matter when comparing programs. For example, TheWrap’s cited comparison with the House of the Dragon premiere used live-plus-same-day viewing, while the A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms figures above use a three-day window. Those are not like-for-like totals.

Season averages are a different measure
In its February 26, 2026 report, TheWrap also cited WBD figures of more than 14 million average viewers in the U.S. and 26 million globally for the season. These are season-level averages, not the finale’s three-day audience. The report said episode viewership generally grew week over week, with an exception around the early release of episode four ahead of the Super Bowl, but did not publish a full episode-by-episode breakdown.
