Taylor Swift’s dating history includes a number of widely reported relationships, but the public record is not equally clear about every pairing or date. The latest firmly dated milestone in the sources available here is Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement announcement on August 26, 2025. Earlier names belong in a reported timeline, not an official or definitive list.
How to read Swift’s public relationship timeline
Swift has kept some relationships private, and entertainment timelines often combine direct public milestones with secondary reporting and fan interpretation. The names below reflect commonly published coverage; they do not establish that every relationship was confirmed in the same way or that every start and end date is settled. The Knot’s overview and Entertainment Tonight’s timeline are secondary guides, not an official account.
Early-career relationships commonly reported
Published timelines commonly include Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Conor Kennedy, and Harry Styles. The available reporting supports treating these as widely reported pairings, but does not establish equally strong confirmation or precise dates for each one. For that reason, this guide does not assign a month-by-month chronology or present every entry as a confirmed relationship.
Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston
Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston appear in commonly published timelines after Swift’s early-career reported pairings and before Joe Alwyn. The sources summarized here support that broad sequence, not a comprehensive primary-source account of exact beginning and ending dates. These entries are best understood as reported relationships rather than a fully verified chronology.

Joe Alwyn: a private relationship
Swift and actor Joe Alwyn were described in coverage as keeping their relationship private. Elle’s timeline reports that Alwyn addressed the relationship’s ending in 2024. The available account does not establish a definitive cause for the breakup; explanations attributed to anonymous sources should not be treated as settled fact.
Matty Healy: reported brief connection in 2023
Elle’s coverage describes a brief 2023 connection between Swift and musician Matty Healy, following the reported end of her relationship with Alwyn. This is a reported account, not grounds for asserting exact private chronology, overlap, or motivation.

Travis Kelce: from public story to engagement
The Associated Press recounts public milestones in Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s story beginning in 2023. On August 26, 2025, they announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post, as reported by the AP. That is the clearest current relationship milestone in the sources cited here.

Fans and entertainment coverage often connect songs to people in Swift’s life, but a plausible interpretation is not confirmation. Unless Swift or the named person has directly confirmed a connection, describe it as fan speculation or an interpretation reported by media. For example, Time framed discussion of “Actually Romantic” as what fans think the song is about, rather than an established identification: Time’s coverage.
