The New York Times’ “complete list” is an editorial collection of verbal attacks Donald Trump posted on Twitter from his June 2015 presidential-campaign announcement through January 8, 2021, when Twitter permanently barred his account. It is a defined collection, not a count of every tweet or an objective, universally agreed catalogue of insults.
What the New York Times collection includes
The New York Times published “The complete list of Trump’s Twitter insults (2015–2021)” on January 19, 2021. The project describes its contents as the verbal attacks Trump posted on Twitter between his June 2015 candidacy announcement and January 8, 2021. That final date is the endpoint the project gives, tied to Twitter’s permanent suspension of his account.
“Complete” is the project’s own description of its collection within that stated scope. It should not be read as a claim that every Trump tweet is included, or that the boundary between an insult and other forms of criticism is self-evident. The project does not publish a detailed set of inclusion rules in the material cited here.
Why “insult” is an editorial category
Identifying an insult involves classification: a pointed complaint, a dismissal, a threat, or a condescending remark may overlap with what a reader calls an insult. A scholarly appendix reproduces an insult list compiled by Lee and Quealy for June 15, 2015 through May 24, 2019, and describes a wider set of “impolite Twitter outputs” with categories including pointed criticisms or complaints, condescensions, threats, and dismissals. That appendix offers a useful view of how impoliteness can be grouped, but it ends in 2019 and is not a separate complete collection through 2021. Read the scholarly appendix and study.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For readers, the practical distinction is straightforward: the Times project is a dated editorial list of verbal attacks, while a broad archive of tweets preserves posts regardless of whether they qualify as insults.
How it differs from an all-tweet archive
Mark Hershey’s Trump Twitter Archive on GitHub is a separate resource. Its README reports counts for two CSV files covering all archived tweets in their respective periods—not counts of insults.

| New York Times list | June 2015 to January 8, 2021 | Verbal attacks, as classified for the project; it does not provide a count in the cited project description. | Reading the project’s editorial collection of insults. |
| Hershey GitHub archive, pre-office CSV | May 4, 2009 to January 19, 2017 | 31,249 tweets, as reported in the archive README. | Searching a broader record of tweets from before Trump took office, including posts outside the Times list’s scope. |
| Hershey GitHub archive, in-office CSV | January 20, 2017 to January 8, 2021 | 23,075 tweets, as reported in the archive README. | Searching a broader record of tweets during the presidency, not just insults. |
The archive’s file totals and the Times collection answer different questions. The archive is useful when the goal is to examine tweets more broadly; the Times project is the more direct destination for its curated insult list.
